We have Guadalcanal. I would rather have the Phillipines in 1/2 scale or something ...

Well the thing about those (Slovakia Map & others) is that they are the pet project of some people who have kissed enough *** in the right places around the sim to get thier hands on the mapping tools. There are a lot of maps that we should have but don't. Slovakia being one of them and one of the more important maps for the Eastern front. Yet.....in the mean time we only have 1/2 of New Guinia nothing of the Phillipeans, and an imaninary island runway for southern England. I mean for go sakes mae an english channel map....it's be the size of the findland map or larger but geeze. I hardly belive an Itialn Map or N.Afrika was/is the way to go. and once gaain the PTO & PF get swept under the rug. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I am kind of tired and simply don't have time for people like Copperhead. If he thinks we had to kiss someone's *** to get the map tools, let him fool himself. No, we simply asked for them, but before that we established our credibility with Maddox Games by being their betatesters and making Slovak dynamic campaign and voicepack for AEP. And of course it's a pet project. What would you expect? I wouldn't spend 1000-1500 hours of my free time on something I don't care about. We wished to have our home map in the game, so we put together resources and did it while you just kept whining, praying, wishing, whatever. We deliver results and work, you just demand and blame others. If you REALLY wanted to have more PTO maps, you could have created them. We started from scratch over 2 years ago.

Copperbutt, some people have done more during the last years than flying on HL and trolling on the Ubi Forum.

Hey guys, chill. He's a nobody, or in other words an idiot with no net worth whatsoever to this game and community, so why not just ignore him altogether?

Anyway, back on topic, was there much air action around Crete? From what I can remember, the invasion was pretty much a one-way fight (air-wise) for the Germans.

Wasn't Leros the scene of a more balanced aerial campaign? Would this be more appropriate?

the map is not ment to be Crete.

the bigger island "just" has the shape of it - easier for the developer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

no "real" areas of the MTO are allowed for IL2 series.
its reserved for SoW AdOns.

The whole map was a crackpot idea born on a boring afternoon. It started as rant between yogy and myself about the size (or not-size) of Ian's then new "Desert Map" and grew into "this way and that way and do this and that" ... In the end it developed into a quick-n-dirty map with more useful dimensions (useful for more than fighter dogfights on a DF server, that is) but it was anything but planned.

I find his posts to be nearly illegible. How badly must one butcher the English language with a keyboard to be rendered totally incomprehensible? After all, those keys aren't going anywhere, AND we have the benefit of an automatic spell checker.

Heck, that DVX Immortal fellow is more comprehensible than that copperhead dude.

Copperhead, you are from the u.s of fu#*ing a? Right? I saw a lot of people from the u.s.a. (not all! )in these forums who are pretty frustrated... Why and what is that? I cannot understand.
Really... People like you are so negative! You are a like child! I want this or that otherwise we will occupie your country and bring you fastfood and stupid sitcoms etc.! At this moment i'am sick of the way the u.s.a. is behaving and a lot of their people!
Grow up and give some positive contribution to the world! If you don't like it, please fu*# off! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Okay, because a lot of people (specially from the u.s.a. ) are whinning all the time i'am getting frustrated myself. At this moment that is...

My only question was and is will this map be released or not? That's all... and i don't give a, whatever, about any other map! I'am happy the way 1946 is. I am just curious about the(crete lookalike ) map which looks very nice.

Looking forward for the reply on this one... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I do considerable amount of traveling in my profession. I have had the opportunity to meet some outstanding individuals from all areas of the globe. I have also meet some real jerks. I think we can all agree people are for the most part the same all over. Some good ,some not so good.
Why do you and others feel the need to include someones country of origin when responding to them? Are you taking a survey?

Woodstock_69

I'am not taking a survey.

It strikes me that a lot of negative posts are from people living in the usa. That's what i meant to say and your absolute right that for the most part people are the same all over. Some good ,some not so good.
Again i'am just refering to reactions of people done at this forum.
And NO people from the usa are not more bad, evil or whatever than anywhere in this world.

I know it's probably way too late, but I'd be prepared to make a Solomans map if, for one reason or another, an opportunity came up in the future.

Actually, the whole solomons wouldn't run on this sim I think, it's so big. However Some of the islands in proximity would have been nice.

Anyway, I made a suggestion on this forum for an island object that was big enough for a test runway and would take objects itself. We have dover and some sections of land with bldgs on them that have been used to make Malta etc, so I just wondered how tough it would be to make a simple island with sea level edges that could be joined together or overlap.

Ive seen the Dover object used in a similiar fashion, but it won't take objects or runways etc. I just thought that would be a useful object, especially in the Pacific maps.
