Some ointment for the scabies on the late model zero's would be welcome indeed. Having seen the quality of the new skins though, I wouldn't get your hopes up for any great leaps forward.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

As trivial as this would be to do (replacing a couple hundred or so bitmaps inside the game files, deciding which ones to use would take more time than actually switching them out), I seriously doubt it will happen. It's been mentioned in other threads that some people would have liked to have seen 1C spend their limited time "fixing" some things (like this) than tweaking and adding in one or two of the more radical addon planes (Lerche, anyone?). I couldn't agree more.

By the way, I don't buy the "they did the Lerche in their spare time; it didn't take any company production time." If that was the case, we'd have about 20 more 3rd-party planes than we do now. Why weren't they included? The most common reason given was the time it took to test and integrate the new planes into the game.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Default skins will indeed be replaced for a couple of planes. csThor has posted a few screenies of WIP-Skins, quite a while ago. AFAIK Cpt. Farrel, Goodwood & Jester's Ink have also made a couple of new default skins.

I don't know though, if the new default skins are included in the 46-Addon or if they'll come in the final patch. We'll see in roughly a week. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I HOPE they come on the DVD - I have broadband but I don't fancy downloading 1000 skins in one package!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The "Il-2 Sturmovik: 1946" DVD will contain EVERYTHING since FB, including all the new addons and Pe-2.

What is the average skin file size? I was thinking most of the ones I download are around one meg. If we get a 1000 new ones? Is that a Gig worth of new skins, Yuck.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
