View Full Version : If I make it - will anyone want to play it? (UPDATE)

I'm working on a US campaign with proper US ranks and Awards/medals.

The original thread is here:- http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view.asp?name=us_il2sturmovik_gd&id=zdfye

Anyway, I'm surprised by the apparent lack of enthusiasm for this project./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Is it something people want or not?

BTW. If any graphic designers would like to get involved - I expect there are plenty of you out there that can do a far better job of the images for the US awards.

Also I can't seem to be able to save a .tga image file with transparency in Photoshop. Can anyone solve this for me? (I can supply a Photoshop .psd for conversion).

If you can help, please get in touch by PM or simplysimon@boltblue.com

Hi there,

Do not give up your great effort because I know for sure most of us like fighting and flying on all sides.Oleg started with the most beautiful sim I ever saw, made my dream come true. Now there are lots of new planes coming and new maps so over a year we can fly everywhere on earth .

i would take apparent lack of enthusiasm as a sign of the online bias of these forums rather than an indicator of overall lack of interest in a US offline campaign

I would play, and I am extremely enthusiastic about it. The one US mission included with FB is played on the largest map, with an incredible amount of planes in the air, and I can't play it on any higher settings at all. Someone seems to think that all Americans are rich and own super-computers.

Being a US squad we would be highly interested and excited to see a campaign for all of the US guys. I unfortunately lack any technical knowledge to really help you much. But I could be of assistance in the history portion if you like. Go to our site and email me through there if I can help in any way.

Very interested and looking forward to it. I've been wanting to build an American campaign myself. Thanks for your hard work.

Actually poymando. I'm playing your fleet-air-arm campaign (very good it is too!) and have it placed in my US folder. I thought it too odd to have the RAF speaking Russian, so they speak US English now when I'm flying your campaign.

That is so funny "de lurk" indeed!

BTW I take it you meant definately not defiantly?
Although you could play my campaign defiantly if you so wish! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'll play it for sure. I hope you'll wait for the P-51 though, and use it for the fighter.

I think the P-51 might be introduced to the squadron...

We are currently flying P-47 "Thunderbolts" as 56th Group and deservedly fulfilling our nickname of "Wolfpack"

Damn you Buzz!

I'm not much help to you, but I would really like a US campaign, that would be incredible. I still can't figure out how you can get around the default (Soviet) markings showing up on USAAF planes in a campaign?

Anyway, just wanted to say I am definitely enthused and wish you the best of luck.
