I have been experiencing lots of micro stutters recently after applying RC01 patch. I uninstalled FB then re-installed 1.11full then 1.2 Beta. The stutters where gone. I checked and re-installed drivers (sound, graphic) stutters where still gone. Then i re-installed 1.2RC01 on top of 1.2 Beta....now the stutters are back again. After checking various posts it seems that quite alot of other people are also getting this!!! This is'nt low FPS,checking seems fine, this is micro stutters. If you pan around in cockpit you instantly see the effect!!! It seems strange how original game ran fine...then new patch 1.11 made stutters, then 1.2beta took them away and now they are back with 1.2RC01!!!!

Exacly you right. In 1.11 were stutters, in 1.2b they dissapeard and with 1.2 RC-01 stutters are again. I hope that in final 1.2 these will be correct but who knwos - everything is possible

I'll take the 1.2 beta (leaked) for smooth graphics and gameplay.

Any chance of undoing whatever was changed from the 1.2 beta leaked to 1.2 RC01 in terms of graphics?? They're nowhere near as smooth now.

Plimmy: same here.

1.2 beta, after tweaking card and game setting was very fine, but after the RC_01/RC_02 combination I got the same stutters you describe.

ASUS A7N8X DL (nForce XP 3.13 WHQL), Barton 2800+, 1 GHz PC3200, WinXP, Hercules 9700 Pro (Cat Omega 3.9 - 3.7 in FB), DX 9.0b here.

Ok, It seems to me that certainly they know what causes the stutters. Why can't they just make them dissapear for good? Why the back and forth?

I must agree also. I have a post in the Tech forum about it.

http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view-topic.asp?name=us_il2sturmovik_ts&id=zvpwl

It seems it is not related to specific cards either as stated above. I also have a squad m8 with a 5900 ultra who was having similar problems.

It is NOT related to the Pacific maps or any new maps either. It is a global problem.

But you have to remember this is the Beta - or Release Candidate -

It has not been optimized yet - there are still several issues - also take into consideration the way it distributed - It's not a self installer - so I am sure that 1 out of 10 had problems installing and could have misplaced a file - etc etc.....

I agree though - I have had more studder - but could not blame the patch - as I updated my vid driver to cat 3.9 and it took me 2 days to figure out that was the culprit.

I have noticed that the new maps seem a little more gfx intense - escpecially the pacific map - around the trees..

But as I said - it's beta - i'm sure they will fix it.

One other thing - I have an Audigy 2 - and have had some studder - I removed it temp. PC ran alot better without it - of course I was not processing any sounds - but it has led me to delve deeper into this issue - the more I read the more I hear others having similiar issues with the card. Not just in IL2 - but other games.

Anyone else here having problems with your Audigy card

Sorry didn;t mean to take over your thread - I'll post that in a new thread.

Bump??

Yes, bump.

I want to point out that I have to folders, FB 1.11 and 1.2RC, and going back and forth I find microstutters (and couple of seconds' freezes now and then) in the latter, while the former keeps on running very very smooth on maximum settings. FPS aside, 1.2 Excellent is stuttering just like 1.11 Perfect...

It is a beta, and this might be the only reason for this happening, but in case there's some real issue, bumping this post is the way to let the developers know.

The best way to let the developers know is to send in a bug report. You can find the bug report in the 1.11 readme file in your FB folder.

Please fill this out now and send it in. Oleg is only taking them until thursday the 13th.

I get micro stutters too sometimes. Sometimes I can fly all afternoon and not have any problems. But sometimes it will suddenly start micro stuttering and all I can do to fix it is reboot. Simply restarting FB doesn't fix it.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>
