lately I posted a thread about the Ki-46 not figting back in this battle

is any of you actually flying for the USN in Guadalcanal 1942?

I am, flying F4F4

First of all the map is HUGE but the Island and most of where the action happens in stuck on the upper portion of the map, my carrier is stationned near the North limit of the map...see where Im going?

Now about the Jap fighters.

they IGNORE US

not only the Ki-46 finally, but also the Ki-43.
IF I escort a bunch of SDB's, the jap fighters pass few kms away, ignore us completely even if we can see em as balck dots (so they SHOULD be able to see us too, right?)

but they dont, they just continue flying north 4ever, so I pursue em for a long time (for some reason I can barely gain dinstance over the Ki-43 in my F4F4 even if my engine NEVER overheats...) Finally, when we are COMPLETELY out of the map, the Ki 43's turn back and we engage em as they barely defend emselves, if not at all

Result? I shoot down a bunch of fighters acting like bombers way out of the map, to the North, while out bombers never had a single problem to destroy jap ground targets

*sarcasm* Im really enjoying this battle *sarcasm*

Ki-43? At guadalcanal? Um, no.

A6M2-21, Rufes early on---and as subs for CA search planes, and G4M.

D3A attacked first day as a 1-way trip (planned ditch NW near a ship). Later on, they got Buin going, and D3As and A6M3s could participate. that's it. Nothing else.

Ki-43 no what??

wtf is that supposed to mean???

for the record here are the planes included in the Dgen folder, for the AI to fly:

[Planes]
10 F4F3
10 F4F4
10 SBD3
10 D3A1
10 G4M1_11
10 A6M2N
10 A6M2
10 KI_46_RECCE
10 KI_43_IB
[Skill]

no Ki-43 huh?
and am I also hallucinating Ki-46's???

Im sorry to sound rude, but could you make an effort when you post pls?
that last post was rather...moronic

Tell Maddox games the Ki43 isn't belonging there...

I am just, as mr. caca, disappointed by the career.

Dgen is made by Starshoy, not by MG. From the 3.01 readme:

Please send all bug reports relating Dynamic campaign (DGen and NGen) separately to dgen@rogers.com

When enemy fighters don't react they're either out of ammo or they're Rookie AI. Somehow you can edit the average level of AI you will meet. I don't remember how as I hardly play the dynamic campaigns. (There are better things to do within PF IMHO).

Also AI doesn't react when YOU see the (new, big) dots, but when they get as close as 7 km to you. You can see the dots from much larger distances. If you don't want to see them that early change your mp_dotrange settings (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=3421010442).

My reply wasn't a wtf aimed at YOU, it was aimed at whoever thought that a Ki-43 ever flew over Guadalcanal in the first place, they do not belong there. Dunno about any Ki-46, I suppose that is at least possible. Oscars should be expunged from that campaign altogether.

I suggest some of you actually crack a book or two, or do a bit of websurfing.

If you had, you'd KNOW that there were no Oscars over Guadalcanal.

However... you could make the case that if the Marines hadn't landed (or were later wiped out), and the Japanese complete building the base on Munda Point, the Army moves in and... then you have Oscars and perhaps later, Tonys. Then you might have a US CV force trying to take out the OPERATIONAL bases of Guadalcanal and Gavutu.

That's a fairly plausible what-if.

Ok guys I dont know, you are prolly right about no Oscars over Guadalcanal in 42, but the fact is: it was already included in the DGen, I am NOT the one who added this plane

but thats not the question, and it never was, but as it often happens, some of you just completely miss the point that I was trying to make in the first place

the fact that it belongs to Guadalcanal isnt important here, what is important is the fact that : read back my first post CORRECTLY and try to understand every single word
