View Full Version : The tone here and at other Il-2 boards

The overall tone seems to be a loss of patients. It's Wednesday now, and there hasn't been official word from Ubi about the patch at all this week. To be honest I'm really sick of this sh@*. Ubi has got to be the greatest at delays I've ever seen. I know people said it was initially delayed do to the leak. Why? Big deal a beta version got leaked. But Oleg and Ubi seemed to take it personnally and punished us all. To be honest that really agrivated me. FB is a great game, I just wish Ubi would quit playing there games.

RK,

I think it's bigger in your mind than in real life because you so earnestly desire it. I don't know you well so don't take it as a personal remark, but I notice that such perceptions are hopelessly subjective and blown out of proportion. If I have to wait 15 minutes on a bus to take me across town it's unacceptable; if I have 15 minutes left to fly my favorite simulator until I have to stop and do something else, "It's just not enough time fer cryin' out loud, why do I have to go and do some other stupid stuff like that?!?" I hope you see what I mean.

Really, it's not a big deal. It's been since February. The patch is upon us and Oleg is going to continue making simulators as long as they are successful. Surely you can find a way to pass the time. For instance, have a go at flying IL-2 1.2 for a while, I did and it's a blast!

Chin up,
Mike

Whoof to that.

I do feel sorry for everyone who decided not to get the beta. But I dont think what they did in it was that big a deal, I know tons of folks will be real let down when they get the patch and find it....well, middle of the road vs. their expectations.

We're not being punished because of the leaked patch. The leaked patch did delay the release of the final patch, because it exposed more bugs to be fixed that the beta testers missed. Simple as that!

Hey, Ritter.

What can we do about it in any case? It'll probably be a Friday or Saturday release, if the date holds up.

I seem all relaxed and content with waiting, but it's really just distraction with FS2004 (don't have it yet). People on some of the FS2004 boards I frequent are already considering "demanding" a patch! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

At least FB is in a position where future support IS very likely, even if there are some annoying aspects.

Second: I may be loosing my cable modem soon. If the patch comes out after that, I may never get it.

I personally DON'T want the patch. Why such silliness? Because right now, I can download any track and only worry about whether it's for FB, not about what friggin' version it is.

Plus, I'm on dialup, and I'm going to have to spend half a lifetime downloading it, then burn it to CD to keep it around. That's if I want to be compatible with all the extra addon stuff.

I always hate patches and sequels.

Yea, I know. I have downloaded every single IL2 patch on dialup. I even downloaded the IL2 demo on dialup.

No choice for me, there isn't any broadband near my home.
