In one image Altair is killing the double headed eagle soldiers, and in other looks like he is collaborating with them to retake Masyaf.

This isn't much of a spoiler, but in the secret crusade, Abbas says to Altair that he(Altair) only became a master Assassin- and Al Mualims right hand man because he saved Al Mualims life once... looks like this is a pre-AC1 scene http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hmm I wondered if they would show anything from Altair before AC1 and this seems to confirm it. I just wonder when it is.

Thank you for sharing!

I love how Ezio's sneaking in a landmine in plain sight, and the guards still don't spot him, haha.

Hmmm, awesome pics, but some things I've noticed:

- The guy in the 3rd picture looks like the guy from the E3 trailer, but the surroundings don't look like Masyaf.

- In picture 5, Altair seems to be fighting the Templars (see red cross on their chests) at the entrance of Masyaf and he seems to be fighting along side Byzantine warriors/guards.

- In picture 7, we see Altair stand before a Templar leader (see the helmet), though his clothes look very Byzantine to me. But that isn't really important. The most important is the man in the background. Looking at his black ropes, it looks like he's the leader of the Assassins + he looks a lot like someone we know from the first AC: Al Mualim. So this can only mean that this scene takes place BEFORE the events of AC1.

- Now something else I find intriguing: Though Altair seems to be aided by the Byzantines, Ezio seems to be fighting AGAINST them in every picture of him.

In picture 3 isn't it is the same bald guy that we saw in e3 trailer.

Does it really only bother me Altair's dagger is still not present? Why bother adding the sheath for it then?

Could very well be. Does that mean that that's Masyaf (or the nearby village) in the background?

I'll worry about the details later, I'm just excited to see Altair again, and from those screenshots, we can expect some combat. I personally liked fighting as Altair more than Ezio. The main thing I only liked about Ezio was his streak in ACB. Other than that I guess you could say I felt more 'confident' when fighting as Altair.

A bit of speculation on my part, but I wonder if the Byzantines were oringally allied with the Assassins and the Fourth Crusade had other motives?

In all of the other screenshots, you don't see Ezio's dagger in its sheath, or the crossbow on his back, etc. Only the weapons that they're holding are present. And by the looks of these screenshots of Ezio, there's probably going to be a lot more stealthy/sneaking around. And in each picture it's snowing, so either there is some sort of weather system or it's always going to be snowing in-game, lol.

Weren't the first crusades started because the Byzantines requested military assistance from the pope?

Snow would definitely add something new to the game. Like the rain in that last Romulus memory, made the perfect setting. I'd love to see how they'll use the snow

Yeah I hear you man. The only thing I didn't like about the chain kills was how you're more likely to get grabbed by those guards and that gets so annoying. Counter it wrong and there goes your streak. but I hope the hidden blade's offensive abilities improve. I spent like hours in the VR training trying to improve my scores and the timing for counters is so much harder than the other weapons.

The hidden blade is good enough as it is, and I'm sure a lot here will agree with that. Yes, it's harder to counter with it, but if you time it right, your enemy is totally dead. Plus hidden blade countering has gotten easy enough in Brotherhood, it was harder in both AC I and AC II.

Nuh uh I still wan it to be more offensive. You cant be direct enough in combat and they are making it so Ezio can go more on the offensive side in Revelations. A fine change of pace from the holding right trigger and pressing X all the time (no idea how it works on PS3 btw).

Yeah I don't see it either but the one picture does show guards dragging AlMualim away and he looks like he's alive. How can that be since Altair just killed him right there? Even in the Secret Crusade he wouldn't be alive while they were dragging him off unless that's not AlMualim. Maybe it's Abbas but that doesn't make sense either.

Based on some other screenshots and the new trailer, it looks like the Templars have set up shop around Masyaf, possibly in the village that used to be there. It looks like they have built some of their own buildings and small towers, including a water wheel that Ezio rides up in the trailer. So I think Ezio is fighting him down there, away from the castle. The rest of the environment just looks too similar to be somewhere else, with the same blue tint and snow.

Oh yeah that's true it could be from the time Abbas was referring to when he said Altair had saved AlMualim's life once. Good call. I'm actually really excited about the Altair parts. I hope they don't end up being 3 minutes long all together. I hope we see the part from the book **spoilers** when Altair saves Muhklin or however you spell his name from those two guys after they hang him in the tree by the watering hole.

Possibly if its one memory among the events of retaking masyaf, as all the Altair memories need to be relevant to Ezio/Desmond, I think.

Wow, good memory. After you said this, I looked it up and it's almost definitely describing the scene from the screenshots. The book is talking about Abbas being punished for an incident with Alta´r by having his training extended an extra year past Alta´r's, and says this on page 212:

He [Abbas] would still be on the training yard with Labib when Alta´r was made an Assassin. The injustice increased his hatred of Alta´r, who slowly came to see Abbas as a pathetic, bitter figure. When the citadel was attacked, it was Alta´r who saved the life of Al Mualim and was elevated to Master Assassin.

Oh very nice! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Very nice indeed!

So if that's a scene from some book (i've only played the games, know nothing of any books), then maybe we get a little history in the SP. Which would be really excellent.

The first pic looks like Robin Hood and his band of merry (and barefoot!) men. Sorry, i'm not overjoyed about any of the MP characters. They all look the same, all lack individuality. From that pic anyway.

I don't really think most people who play MP really care about their characters having a distinctive, fully developed personality, nor would it be likely that Vidic and the Templars pay more attention to them than they did in their database of them, the information from which Shaun used in the ACB Animus database. Therefore I'd say they should keep it like that.

I hope Altair can use apprentices and such. As i loved the Italian apprentices with their original garbs that made them look respectable. I'd love to see BAM improved and with the use of Altair. It'd be sweet to see the original assassins fight alongside the all mighty Altair. Also I wonder if altair will be able to add and remove armor or change his color. Speaking of that the armor and leveling for apprentices was kind of strange as i think you should choose their loadout and be able to do what ever the **** you want to do with it, maybe buy the equipment instead of having gay presets. Also I hope they add a cosmetic customization menu. The apprentices in AC:Brotherhood pictures looked amazing balaclavas, black sleeves, red bands, flowing garbs, and cool weapon abilities like duel wielding. Ubisoft has shown history with not listening or even caring about what their fans ask for. They rarely consider anything we say. Which i think is dumb as Game companies sole purpose is to make something entertaining for the public and such. Sorry for the rant im flowing with happiness for AC:Revelations
OOOOOO ALSO 5th picture is that an ally? maybe he'll be the right hand man Ubisoft said they would have in brotherhood. Hes prussian or german if im correct? or Wunderberg er something. Look like altair may go to snowy Prussia/germany/austria. O shiz imagine the ability to use the hidden blade discretely and holding square or whatever and you can drag him around like that or use his dead body as a shield.

Weren't the first crusades started because the Byzantines requested military assistance from the pope? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> the byzantines are split between the princes men and those under the command of Templar Commanders. They've basicly used the Princes troops to fight assassins without his knowing. Or they just stole his troops. Like in Brotherhood. Ceasare uses Italian troops to fight ezio so im guessing the Templar leaders have a powerful ally who lends them troops. Just like in Russia. As for the historic reasons the Byzantines and the assassins have complicated history. They war for awhile then their neutral and now ezio is trying to get their help with the new prince ezio is training. So if the prince becomes king he will ultimately ally himself with the brotherhood. As ezio is training the young prince i believe. Or someone similar.
