Not much has been said about it and because of that, I'm really intrigued.

What do we know for sure about it?
Is there other assassins?
What if we kill our boss?
Do we get our new weaponry there or through contacts in the city?
Will Ubi include some easter eggs in there maybe a hashashin history text or something?

thoughts?

Yay, an original thread.
I'm also interested to know about this. But I am sure we won't be able to kill our leader. Even if it's advertised as "Complete freedom" there are just some things that they won't let you do =P

But of course, I could be wrong.

I think there should be some sort of armory type thing in there.

I read somewhere( dunno where so don't ask for the link http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif) that you train there...not sure if it's training missions or what but that's what i read http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

In one of the recently posted previews. I think it was that really cynical one. It said there was a series of combat training aids and a garden full of beautiful women where the assassins all go after they get high.

I am just hoping they don't desecrate the image of the Hashashiyyin anymore then history already has.

I seriously hope the temple is something remarkable and accurate. I would love to see Alamut rebuilt to historical accuracy.

Its not a TOTALLY origanal thread but it raises a very good point http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/5141065795/p/1

But oh well...

The part im most exited about would be the garden full of beautiful women... i wonder if its like god of war (Level 2) or like PG/PG-13

Thumper, no-one ever mentioned them getting high.

There are other assassins

Hashashin history text? And what could that possibly be?

Exactly what it's meant to be. A historical text about the assassins. Extracts from "Alamut" for example?

A garden full of babes is realistic as well. I;m sure this group of Assassins had plenty of screwing before they died. Since they didn't care too much about dieing.

Alamut is a fictional book with not many facts.

Oh and Mord, there will be no Alamut in this game. This is about the Syrian nizari branch.

The pheremones in this thread are making my eyes water.

Seriously though, that sounds neat and I don't remember hearing about any of that. Thanks for posting this topic as it hasn't really been a topic of heated discussion, lately.

Darnit!

<STRIKE>Also, Alamut was not a fictional book.</STRIKE> ( <span class="ev_code_RED">I stand corrected Hassan. After some research myself you are right. my apologies.</span>) Alamut was a fortress/temple used by the Hashashiyyin. It was destroyed by the Mongol invasion of the Holy Land.

did the hashashin take drugs before they went killing...so they felt no pain and other stuff...and so their leader could tell them anything and theyd do it...and also while they were high he would show them a garden n tell them it was paradise or something...idk if any of this is true....so dont be a jerk when replyin

There is no historical reference to the Hasshishin using hash outside of Marco Polo (and he exagerates most of what he wrote). The term is believed to come from an archaic Persian word "Hashiya"...which meant a "dirty person", s*umbag, lowlife. The nizari were not well liked by their contemporary muslims, hence deragotory name calling.

"the Gardens"...most historians agree at this point, it was further invention and exageration of M. Polo.

"Alamut" was an historic place AND a fictional book. The Book "Alamut" by Victor Bartol was written as an allegory of the evils of Fascism. (Interesting side note: in the original editions, Bartol sarcastically dedicated the book to Benito Mussolini. This was removed in editions after WWII). He based most of his story on the reports of Marco Polo (which are proven incorrect...for various reason, least of all, "The Old man of the Mountain" was long dead before Polo visited Alamut. It is also highly doubtful he EVER visited Alamut at all and used the local area tales as a basis for his own).

I think that there will be a little town there, where the wives (and children, but there aren't any in the game) stay.

I mean, you can't have the family of an assassin that assassinates in broad daylight in the middle of hundreds of people living in the middle of Acre! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

So yeah, some small houses ad maybe even farms. XD

A farm... lol

Is there other assassins?
Yep. The tutorial part is Altair demonstrating to the novice assassins how to beat the stuffing out of people. And fellow assassins are informants sometimes.

What if we kill our boss?
I don't want to try doing that... >_>

Do we get our new weaponry there or through contacts in the city?
Get them through the boss when you finish missions.

Will Ubi include some easter eggs in there maybe a hashashin history text or something?
I have no idea about easter eggs...

And yeah, there is a small town full of people also where you pick up a horse (though you can just go steal someone else's when on the loose in the kingdom... since the horse can die http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Poor horsey...).

Yeah. One of my Altair comics got signed by Patrice and the other developers if you really need proof I was there.

If you were there, you were there. I don't see the need to prove it to anybody.

You know and that is all that counts. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

"Each mission begins at Masyaf, the assassin stronghold located in the countryside (The Kingdom) between the massive cities of Acre, Damascus, and Jerusalem. After receiving his mission (and a bit of a lecture) from the leader, Altair is granted new abilities by way of an armor piece, such as a sword power upgrade or a new reversal move. From Masyaf, Altair can mount a horse and ride to the city of his choosing, though players will be able to ditch the ride/walk in the later portions of the game and simply warp to the intended locale."
so is their base Alamut, Masyaf, or what??? so confused

Kaxen6

The base is Masyaf in Assassin's Creed. The Hashashin had more than one base. Masyaf is closer to the holy land than Alamut is if I remember correctly (I have no sense of geography).
