Well we played as the Germans so does that mean we can play as the Japs with their wide veriety of submarines ? Like this one right here

http://www.combinedfleet.com/sen_toku.htm

I like what the Japanese did with their subs and it shocked the Americans that they made the Japanese scuttle the submarine so the Russian's wouldn't use it. Talk about paranoid http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

thats not what I meant http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif I mean if we can play as the Japanese this time or is the timeframe short for that. Then wonder if we can extend the timeline by sinking special ships.

I've just checked out the number of Japanese sub types used,36 in all and all types where in service.

Although they were nominally faster, they were'nt as strong,in the hull and the deepest that any one type,8 types in all, could dive was 100 metres the rest were only capable of diving to between 60 to 80 metres.

They even had 4 boats in service that could carry 3 aircraft,in a tubular hangar below the bridge, with spares to build a 4th plane.

Makes you wonder really,if they were tasked to hunting merchants, instead of using them as supply ships and for hunting task forces, how much longer could they have sustained the war in the far east.

It would become a sub and flight sim all in one!

Shift-ctrl-F12 puts you in the cockpit, then you can go off and bomb California with incinerery bombs...which, I believe was one of the secret missions for the I-400.

And France:

The idea of big submarines turned out to be a fiasco.

They were too slow to operate in a task-force (which was the orignal thought of submarine-cruisers).
Too slow turning and diving.
Too easy to detect.

Yeah, never played a WWII submarine jap campaign... It would be really cool to try those subs...

the midget subs lol. I saw that the Nazi's had those midget subs that they used to harass the British shipping lane.

Japs had bigger but still small subs. lol.
