Looks like a fourth Rabbid-game has been announced, or whatever. And unlike the previous three, this one looks like something I'll buy.

I don't really like the storyboard, but if this means the rabbids have a game of they're own now, Rayman games will continue!!! I really was hoping that they would make another rabbids party game starring ONLY the rabbids and not rayman, but I'm not complaining!

This game looks awesome! Finally, it looks like they've split Rayman and the Rabbids into two different series.

And seriously. I will get this game. Fresh and unique idea. Although the Rabbids have kind of lost their touch.

Also, I'd like to comment on one of that site's statements:

This will be, technically, the first game with the Rabbids in a starring role, having been introduced for the Wii's series of Rayman mini-game titles (and actually proving far more popular and memorable than the titular character himself).

I disagree. Rabbids have been around of just a couple of years and they've already started losing their massive amounts of praise and love. Rayman's been around for more than 10 years, and a lot of people are begging for his return as an adventure guy.

Ubisoft has not said they were getting rid of Rayman. They wouldn't dare get rid of him, even for stupid Rabbids.

That's because this is the Rabbids own game now. As in, a different series.

C'mon, guys, this isn't something to give up about. This is something that gives more hope. It looks like Rayman and the Rabbids have finally been split up into two different franchises. Seriously, did you think they were gonna drop the Rabbids like that?

Besides, think Mario and Wario. It's kind of like that.

Besides, I think they're trying to keep us Rayman fans as happy as possible while the Rabbid series is going on. Like the references to the old Rayman games in TV Party.

And also, it wouldn't make sense for Ubisoft to give up on Rayman without degrading him from being their mascot.

Michel Ancel rules. Forget Shigeru Miyamoto. Ancel should be the revolution in gaming.

I doubt it'll be Wii exclusive. The gameplay sounds like the controls will be suitable for the other home consoles, and because Ubisoft like making money, they'll probably put it onto the other home consoles so that they can get more customers.

Weren't those rumours though?
But if they are true, I guess I'm positive to this game, Rayman or no Rayman, as long as the game turns out good.

This sounds like something that'd not just fit the Wii indeed, but considering two of the three earlier games have been Wii-exclusive (and DS yadda yadda), I don't know what I'll think.

Are you everyone else, Dark? D:

I don't love Miyamoto or much less Nintendo because they are always recycling their own old, succesful concepts (I mean, what are they at now, Mario Party 8?) and rarely support more daring projects, even though they definitively have the funds to take risks.

Kudos to Miyamoto and Nintendo for some great games like Mario and Zelda and Pikmin, though, sure. I love Twilight Princess. It's a very detailed, good game.
But I have different preferences. Terribly sorry they don't fit with everyone else's.

I have to agree with this. Mario needs to try out something new and daring. Rayman did that with his second installment, and look how well that turned out.

The only thing is, the fans would probably backlash it for being different, because they can't accept change. It happens in a lot of video game series. Take Crash Bandicoot, for example. People are needlessly backlashing the new games for being nothing like the old ones, because they obviously want to play the same thing over and over again and never try something new and different.

So Mario probably isn't changing because it would be suicide for him.

Why does everyone think that just because the Rabbids get their own game, Rayman's dead? I mean, Rayman can still live with the Rabbids, and there's still the possibility of Rayman 4.

Besides, look at the replies on that page. See how almost all of the people on their want Rayman back.

Also, what the site said about Rayman 'holding the Rabbids back'. It's pretty much impossible to hold back an army of insane loonatic creatures when you're just a side character who only appears in the cutscenes. Plus, he was never holding them back in the first place, he was just an extra character. All series need a cast, right?

Xenon09
04-11-2009, 03:20 AM
The problem is we cannot be sure if Rayman will return. Of course it's a possibility, but there's absolutely no way of knowing for sure. The Rabbids have become mascots of Ubisoft and have influxed an incredible amount of money, so Ubisoft may decide to change cards and keep the franchise going as a lucrative earning. I think there have been 6.5 million sales, which is far more than the predecessors (R1, R2, R3).

I'll say what I've said many times - Ubisoft is unpredictable. I'm going to leave an open mind about the whole thing but choose to be realistic rather than optimistic. That's the best I could hope for.

The Rabbids earned a fanbase that when initially created was possibly not anticipated and since have become a big feature that much is true, but that doesn’t mean anyone’s going to ‘dump’ Rayman who is still a huge franchise for Ubisoft.

All this news confirms is that the Rabbids have been split from Rayman, it’s not saying Rayman is dead or dying, just that Ubisoft realised the potential the Rabbids have in their own right

Kinda.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I love Rayman. I'm just not so into it that I shun everything else and think Rayman is the best game series ever. I'm more of a Nintendo and Capcom kind of guy. Ubi-Soft is fine, but the only Ubi-games I have are Rayman ones, and I rarely ever Play Rayman. Pretty much the only Rayman game I play is the first one, and the GBC one. Those are my favorites of the series.

So yeah, when Rayman 4 comes out, I'll get it. I'm hoping it will be more epic, though. More emotion, so that I actually give a crap about the characters. Unlike Rayman 2 and 3. Oh, and better music. Most of the Rayman soundtracks are pretty....meh. Not much melody. Mostly drums. If Inti-Creates worked on Rayman 4, I guarantee the music would be awesome.

I'm not by any means restricted to only playing Rayman-games either (nor do I think Rayman is the best game in the world or Ubisoft the best developer, those spots are reserved for Psychonauts and Double Fine, Tim Schafer I loooove youuu and I will be camping outside the local Spaceworld three days before the release of Brütal Legennnd <3), if that's what you are implying, nor do I think anyone else on this forum is, because playing the only the three same games over and over for ten years is kinda strange, stranger than Japan.

Preferences & personal opinions and blah blah blah.

And as far as other franchises are concerned I'm into Worms, WarioWare [in hiatus until the Made in Ore game comes out], Cooking Mama, Earthworm Jim and a good heap of home grown games like James Pond, so yeah, a good mix and match here. :B

I got a box of Pocky along with a painting from a friend and exchange student in the US, and I've seen them at Outland, a store in Trondheim that specializes at manga, anime, fantasy-merchandise, Dungeons and Dragons, more comics and in general all stuff nerdy (they have a nice selection of Franco-Belgian comics, om nom nom Spirou & Fantasio). It's flavoured frosting on edible sticks. That's all. It's also darn expensive.

Sushi is nice though. I tried it when I was in Oslo two years ago. Not the best thing I've tried, but it was a nice experience, and fun to have tried, I guess.
My familly didn't like it. xD;

Besides, Japanese stuff is usually top-notch. Awesome animation, games, movies, music, and comic books. And the food is delicious. (but it's best not to overeat the raw fish.)

Oh don't get me started.
For starters, the entire concept is extremely dumb, overused and it's everywhere, not to mention their often annoying high-pitched voices and the eyeburning, flasy intros with horrible theme songs and the oversaturated colours, and all the girls look the same with the same huuuge shiny KAWAIII DESU =^___^= eyes, tiny undefined noses, often unaturaly coloured, shiny hair, huge boobs, tiny waists and legs twice as long as they should be.

I'm sorry, but it's just right in the opposite of my alley.

On the subject of animes, I could stand Bleach for a while, actually, and One Piece is fun in moderate amounts. And I love the Moomins. The concept and the original books were swedish-finnish, but the cartoon was made in Japan, so it counts. The Groke is forever etched into my memory as the epitome of scary.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I like girls in mini-skirts >: Most of their voices are not high pitched and the intros can be good. I personally judge animes by their intros and endings. xD

Ubisoft has finally stopped with the minigames,eh?
It's about time.

Now Rabbids Go Home...
It looks like a strange game, but who knows?
It MIGHT be fun.

Now guys, we can't lose hope on Rayman

Although I DO wonder where Rayman went in the last cutscene of RRR TV Party...

Who knows?

Ubisoft might make Rayman 4 an epic win or an Epic fail.

That is...
If they even MAKE a Rayman 4...

Huh, it's the cover story in the newest issue of NOM (the Nintendo mag for Brits). It hints at being a Wii-exclusive (with comparisons to Super Mario Galaxy), and it talks about causing 'havoc across six hub worlds, 20 environments and 50 missions'. Apparently, they introduce new game mechanics 'every 15 to 20 minutes', and you do such things as terrorising people, stealing cars, e.t.c. Also noted; "Ubisoft Montipelier is looking to push its furry, fun-loving mascots into the very same limelight ccupied by a chubby Italian plumber".

You've robably heard this all before, but I didn't see it anywhere in the thread.

But that's Rayman's job. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Besides, they may as well drop them hopes right now, because they obviously haven't realized that people are getting bored of the Rabbids by now.

Hello guys! I'm italian and also in our country we want back Rayman in a platform game. Rabbids go home could be a good game, but Rayman is not playable in the game and never makes cameos. So I'm sad too 'cause the old Rayman is only a dream. But where is Rayman now? Is he in the Earth? How can he come back in his world? If they make a Rayman platform we may not see our favourite character in his fantastic and coloured world...

I still don't understand how if Rabbids Go Home isn't even considered a Rayman spin-off, the RGH forum is part of RaymanZone.

Limely
05-13-2009, 05:15 AM
I see the point there. Splinter Cell belongs together in a forum regardless of the installment because it's still Splinter Cell, so if RGH is considered an entirely new game independent from Rayman, the comparison doesn't hold water.

RGH belongs in the same forum as Rayman, though, still, because this franchisé originated from Rayman and because of their common history from the past couple of years. The forums aren't quite ready to split yet, I think.

kleaneasy
05-13-2009, 05:44 AM
Perhaps I should be more specific..........

Rabbids Go Home is of course a spin off from Rayman, the Rabbids were after all a character from a Rayman game and hence why it’s listed within the RZ forum group.

However.......It is a game in its own right (a game can be a game in its own right and be a spin off) and therefore Rayman has no involvement not only in the game but in this forum.

As such any discussion on the Rayman games within this forum would not only be off topic but would more importantly not be received as feedback on the Rayman games because it’s not been posted within the RZ forum.

Posting in this forum on any topic other than Rabbids Go Home if off topic and any such content would be directed to its more appropriate forum, in this instance Rayman.

Finally I would add that posting off topic has never been permitted in the boards when a more suitable forum is available to post in, so this isn’t something new, this is how its always been. Should anyone wish to discuss this further please contact me in PT, otherwise lets get back on topic please. Thank you

who said that the rabbids are leaving rayman.for all we know that big tower of junk thats supposed to reach the moon could fall over or somethin on top of raymans house, but i hope ubisoft make a half decent rayman adventure game and you could have multiplayer minigames with the rabbidsin the same game but a good wii rayman platform adventure game and ditch globox and all those crappy characters. maybe some flying levels with your hair a bit like the original rayman when you drink the potion. i mean ubisoft should be capable of it, we're talking about the legendary creators of assassins creed, the team making assassins creed 2, the team that made HAWX!!!

I agree. Poor Rayman deserves it after his games being taken over by the Rabbids for the past 6 years. Back on topic, I think Ubisoft have come up with a great idea. It's impossible not to discuss Rayman at some level in this forum. The RGH game and indeed the Rabbid franchise were, after all, derived from the Rayman series itself, so there will always be instances where people will bring up the topic of Rayman even if it's within a Rabbid-based discussion. I may have misunderstood you and apologies if I have, but it sounds like you're trying to banish any form of Rayman subject in this forum. It's simply not doable. This is why I've always objected to forum rules as they contain all sorts of flaws...

kleaneasy

You're right you did misunderstand me.

No one is trying to banish Rayman discussion, but the post I originally referred to was not a post about Rabbids with some reference to Rayman, it was a post about a Rayman game and how the poster wanted the Rayman game and wondered where Rayman was.

That kind of feedback needs to be in the Rayman forum.

Now I did already ask if anyone wanted to discuss this further to contact me in PT, I won’t ask again, any further posts on the matter keeping this thread off topic in the process will be removed.

Ugh...

This is exactly why I left the forums. Pirate-Community was just because I couldn't keep up, this one not only because I can't keep up but because of this hating and constant misunderstanding.

Let's run down the groups I've seen:

1. Rayman Fans who Insult Rabbids.
2. Complete Rayman Fans
3. Rayman Fans That Think That the Rabbids Should Still Stick With Them Even Though They Are Getting Exactly What They Have Been Wanting For A Long Time - Confused Rayman Fans
4. People who can enjoy both, despite of what happened.
5. Complete Rabbid Fans
6. Rabbid Fans who insult Rayman.
7. People who just gave up and don't care anymore.

Okay listen, we're still going to get some Rayman game, we're going to get a Rabbid's game, what's the best part is that we get Beyond Good and Evil 2. Michel Ancel's working on the Rabbid's game (though we have had 3 Rabbid games coming to us every year while Rayman just stopped so I question the reason of making Rabbids first but that's besides the point) along with working on BG&E2 and we have had constant hinting about Rayman 4 in official articles (such as Nintendo Power), I bet you like next year we'll see a preview of Rayman 4, hopefully maybe Ancel will announce the pre-production this year, but this time, ignore what the Wii does and give us another all console game that will be even better than all the Rayman games combined!

HECK! Somebody on Wikipedia even noted that we're ignoring the hints and signals about a possible Rayman 4.

Let me say though, the article Luckster posted awhile ago:
That was just too much for my fanboy heart. Seriously, cursing Rayman and saying he was holding the rabbids back? Ouch.

To be honest, I know this game won't be hardcore gaming but it'll be a nice multiplayer game to play with friends. TV Party kinda proved no one cared for the same party games over and over.
