Hi

I have been away from IL2 and the IL2 forums for awhile now, mainly due to having a hell of a time with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Feeling a bit better now.

I am catching up and I am wondering when Storm of War: Battle of Britain is coming out?

When it is released I am hoping to start working on my cockpit project again;

http://212.124.199.72:8080/FCIProject/

I look forward to Oleg's reply http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

End of this year if we are lucky, Best trying the 1C forums for information from Oleg, highly unlikely you'll see him post here.

See thread topic "Storm of war" (also posted today) (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/2461073036)...

I hope we don't get a string of people asking this question every two days or so...

It is pure coincidence that I popped onto the forum today and asked the question.

I noticed the other post after I had written mine.

Its been a long time since I posted http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

No worries, mate http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am surprised this question is being asked everyday!

The IL2 Community has been very patient

I am having a hard time understanding when BoB will be released.

Yep. Thats whats being said...

People are being a bit coy because:

A) This question is asked somewhere between once a day and once a week for the last two years
B) Only a small trickle of information has come out from Oleg's team on the 1C English forums
C) There is no release date that is real and there isn't enough information to go on to be able to tell anyone in a meaningful fashion so they have resorted to being as creative as possible

None of these help you but I do encourage having a quick read around the forum to see all of the other topics and you'll see some serious attempts at answering the question.

For the moment we're waiting for the 4.09 patch, which will be the last patch from the developers (at least that's what Oleg says). The beta is out, but it has been a bit of time since it's release. I don't think we'll see SoW:BoB until quite some months after the patch.

I get the message; how long is a piece of string?

Especially when it is virtual and made with C++.

I have no doubt that in the fullness of time there will, indeed, be a harmonious resolution to this question, assuming that harmony is still acceptable to the great masses of the world who may, possibly, buy flight sims. Therefore, let us all come together in the certainty that resolution will occur at some time, and deplore those who do not believe in resolution. Of course, resolution is not a belief system, and belief in mere resolution is a useless passion. Best it is that we condemn uncertainty as we must inevitably embrace it to ensure that we are balanced human beings who acknowledge the light and dark sides of experience as opposed to simplistically accepting one or the other. So be of good cheer, even though this is rather fatuous, and remain certain, even in the absence of certainty, that certainly something will happen eventually even if it is a Royal Corgi suffering from extreme flatulence during a state dinner.

Very inflammatory. Do you not believe Oleg and his team are trying their hardest to deliver a fantastic product?

Remember the goal posts have changed in the last couple of years with dual and quad core CPUs. Writing code that can multi-thread is no easy task.

Talking of taking a bullet, my friend is IN http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif the British Army in Afghanistan and has a REAL chance of taking a bullet.

As has the many American and NATO forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

That is REAL life.

Let's take this wild bore post point by dreary point: (1) You will not receive a free copy of BOB the SOW by pretending to be Oleg As the Outraged Virgin, (2) What has the war to do with some levity?, (3) Your post is deliciously incoherent. Congratulations. If you are so dull, you can't make a joke, go peddle your wares, whatever they may be, elsewhere.

Leitmotiv, I am shocked at your attitude. I have a friend who works in a cheesecake factory, so that you don't have to. If FCIProject3 claims that "my friend is the British Army in Afghanistan", then we must choose to beleive him. It is not for us to wonder how he keeps all the troops satisfied.
I slept with Megile's girlfriend so he doesn't have to. As has the many American and NATO forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. Plus I took a bullet once while shifting the goalposts. So I think I know what I'm talking about.

OK, lets take a step back and chat a bit...

How advanced is your CFS?

I see a CFS consultant once a month and have, finally, got some sort of possible long term prognosis. I could, possibly, be wheelchair bound within 5 years. I am 40, so this is not goods news. I could spend the rest of my life in a chair.

This is only a possibility. I only got a 'honest' opinion because the consultant is an American, living in the UK, working for the NHS. A English/British consultant would never be this straightforward with a patient.

How does the CFS effect you and your daily life?

I overdid it a bit yesterday and spent last night in AGONY and had to rest for over 16hours. Managing the CFS is the hardest thing to do.

----

My sincere sympathies regarding your CFS. It certainly is a b*tch

Gary

I had CFS for a few months once while working on CAD/CAM for a blow molding mfg. It was hell in there having to detail a blowmold in 14 hrs or the foreman would come in and grab what design was done and start machining unchecked blueprints.

Doctors were baffled and I had no help. Eventually I got laid off as I was looking for another job. And thats when the CFS got cured.

I believe it was caused by stress and intense computer usage and starring at a computer screen 10 hrs a day in a static posture. Also lack of fresh air and sinus infections can casue it as I had a bit of one at the time. The smoke from the berylllium machining would pour into the office at times.

I hope you the best as I've been in your shoes and its not fun.

FCIProject3

Stress, IMHO, is a very major contributing factor to CFS.

I worked in the IT industry working in very stressful environments.

It is not easy when people say 'remove stress from your life'. It is not as easy as that!

I am very glad your CFS went away (there is no cure). Being laid off was a blessing in disguise, IMO.
