Never had it happen to me...only cuz that's what I do in that bomber. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

The B-25 can be fierce in some of the dogfighter servers especially if it has the speed and energy to chase you down with those forward guns.

I've shot down a couple of 109s and a Zero using the B-25's forward guns. They get overconfident and fly infront of you and bammo! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Not done that with the B-25 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

But I've nailed a few JPN planes with the A20G nose guns

AI got mad skills. I've seen 'em try to df in a QMB against me & my squadron. The scary part was the '25s were the cannon armed models. Think they got 1 or 2 of my guys if I remember.

I remember in IL2 original, playing through the Sturmovik campaign and being moderately surprised at being downed by the big cannon-armed Ju87 on more than one occasion

As a matter of fact I had a Japanese (AI) D3A1 torpedo bomber act like it was a fighter once. Freaky thing to see. I was dog fighting with the dam thing. It crashed into the ocean on it's own like a possessed mindless killing machine and I was Dennis Weaver in a Dodge Dart in the movie "Duel" and the D3 was an 18 wheeler truck with a ghost driver. AI identity problem maybe.

B-25G and B-25H are both armed with 75mm cannon.
The only difference really is the model of the 75 used, with the "H" version's cannon being lighter than the "G". Both are in the PF stand alone and merged. They deleted the copilot station & subbed in the big 75. There is also a rack for the 75mm ammo on the left side of the plane(looking towards the cockpit). This is the view forward of the "H" model.

Only the B-25J version is flyable in either 'merged' or 'standalone' PF, Slo_. The other versions are AI.

So, you were first in a B-25, Then when you changed sides the B-25 came after you? Well no wonder. What happened was: The AI ghosts of the B-25 got a bad attitude and decided to take you out! I would do the same thing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I use to do it alot online, for some reason many tries to attack the B-25 from the front, u just have to point that nose and spray at them, easy, B&Z also works pretty good some times, I have manage to down about 7-9 planes at a time in the B-25 the gunners help you alot to do it though

It usually doesnt need to come to that. One only needs to deploy take off flaps in a b-25 and do 2 turns - bf109/110 foolish enought to follow hit the ground, and if they realise too late that they have to accelerate away - then they expose themselves to the 4 .50.
BnZ/slashing attacks is the only theing that works against properly flown bombers

Nope. But once in a campaign server, escorting B25s in a P51, we got high Wurgers down on us. I was stalling all the time with my http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Runstang and of course got flattered by one of the Wurgers at sea level. However, firing stopped and I took a glance of his whereabouts and I saw that a B25 was saving my *.
Seeing that I decided to stall once more and get wet because I felt escort force was fired anyway.

Also, don't forget with current patch, that AI-controlled B-25 will retain energy better than you ever will in a fighter.

It's happened to me a number of times. It's my neighbor. I keep telling him, you need to keep that B-25 in the garage and stop using it to chase me down like a dog and kill me with its foward guns.

Over at Zekes v. Wildcats, Poker (used to be RAF74-Poker) was well know for that at one time. He also got real good at taking out TB-3s by dive-bombing them with a Val while in flight.

What a coincedence...I was flying in UK Dedicated 2 last night and dropped my bombs from 7,000 ft and rolled around to return home...I seldom fly bombers.

Half way home, a Mk108 armed Bf109 Jumps me...I manuever, dive, climb roll etc...eventually the 109 overshoots me and I pepper him good with my guns...another shows up and starts hitting me with 20mm cannons and a second B-25 shows up and we go on the offensive! Eventually the other B-25 gets shot down when a Fw shows up as well...one 109 leaves with battle damage, and now it is me and a 109 & Fw...we are low a swirling...my rear gunner is dead...I manage to hit the Fw and 109 with forward guns, the Fw stalls into the ground....and I damage the 109 enough that he leaves...2 Mitchells fight off 2 109's and a Fw...two of which are sporting fancy Mk108's!

The Mitchell is an awesome fighting machine...be sure!

Yes, it can take silly amount of 20mm and quite a bit of big 30mm shells. It can burn long enough to run out of fuel instead of blowing up or sheding a wing. It is also well protected from attack from most angles.

I usually attack from high 5/7 and aim for the engines or high 12 and aim for the cockpit.

The real issue here is that you in your KI43 got pwnd by a B25! You should be grounded and sent to your room. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Well to be honest Anarchy, I didn't get shot too much and I've had great luck...at least pre-4.04 ripping B-25's apart with Fw 20mm's.

I view the B-25 as probably the easiest to shoot down flyable medium or heavy bomber in the game...even easier than the Betty, which now seems harder even though in real life, it was not...not by a long shot.

I've read the Ju-88 isn't too hard, but I've not shot enough of them to form an opinion yet. Overall, I feel that most bombers are too tough and the crews and gunners show no ill effects from high G manuevers and rolling the plane over...can't figure out how those waist gunners stick thier feet to the floor while the plane is upside down and still manage to shoot at enemy aircraft with amazing accuracy!
