Air to ground attacks! Takes a bit of skill and judging range is difficult, out of four launches missed twice.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

it's one of the first things I tried when I got 46... after taking down some bombers I headed for an airfield and destroyed some hangars with the X-4s http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Haven't tried them yet, are they any good against armour?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Did you destroy the hangers by direct fire, or have you got the hang of guiding them?

The distance is really hard to judge when you guide them. I haven't hit a plane with them yet.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Hi,

Ive tried the X-4 from the Ta-152, I just cant get used to that Lerche.

The best I can manage with the X-4 is six trucks in a convoy. I wouldnt expect it to do much else, this weapons strength is its guidance and not its blast effect.

It was strange seeing two X-4s slung under a 152's wings, they look larger than I imagined, and they fire individually, not as a pair. Didnt seem to make any dramatic change in flight characteristics having one.

I think a later model was made, the X-7 which was anti-tank, but that was developed by the Americans after the war.

I attacked a column on a 1946 server and one of the kills was a "tank" probably an armoured car as they are sometimes erroneously called tanks.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I saw a screenie somewhere from one of the RRG guys showing that tanks could be blown up with the missile. Well, if even a .50 gun can tear a tiger apart, an X4 missile should surely do the trick http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

If you read the readme (who doesn't http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif) It says tat you need the lights of the X4 to block your view to the target. The missile is great fun and seeing a bomber burst apart several kilometers away is also great fun. The Ta-183 can carry four of them! Only the aircraft is a bit difficult to take off. Couldn't they strap the Ar-234 rockekts to that little aircraft? The wings look gigantic on it, you should say they produce a bit more lift the currently is the case.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I just tried offline and attacked a T-34 column, 2 kills http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Tanks are not safe!

I also tried X-4s against offline AI in P-51s, toasted them, though I expect an online opponent to be smarter. It will discourage head-ons though, easy to line up when someone it coming right at you.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

How do you guide those X4's?
Do you have to use your keyboard or what?
Or my joystick?
Thanx in advance.

Must have been one of those ZIS trucks with a 25mm cannon on top, they are counted as tanks for some reason...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I use them for GA mostly. Way more effective than a bomb. Quite good blast, and direct hits can even take out tanks, lighter tanks go up by the blast alone.
Just do like described in the readme, hold that thing on your line of sight straight to the target.
It rocks to take out some dangerous air defence guns with them before you get too close to them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Another good reason to use these things is teh vulch, if allowed http://www.ubisoft.de/smileys/3.gif

To Kamikaze,
It recommends in the readme, [you have read it, haven't you? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif] to configure the arrow keys. It will also work with the keys that you've set up for the level bomber aiming.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

IMO the best way to use the X-4 against bombers is to attack straight from behind, aim slightly below the bomber, fire the missile from 7-900 m and disengage. There is no need to guide the missile at all and the defensive gunners cannot possibly inflict damage from that distance.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My longest bomber-kill is 3.2km, I think. it's cool.
