Please post all the screenshots here instead of posting them in thousand (seperate) topics. Here are the first ones:

That new outfit is soooo awesome. Best one yet!

I'm also liking the Masyaf symbol (the one inside the assassin symbols in AC1) instead of the assassin one at the center.

Firstly, I'm a little disappointed that Ezio is showing up again. But... I like him too much to stay upset for long. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

By the way, what's that Eagle-head-shaped-hook-thingy on his hidden blade? Maybe it's some sort of grappling hook or device used for climb leap. And why is he using a hidden blade while hanging in that position (will let they let us shoot poison darts from hanging position)?

edit: Wait, is it confirmed that's Ezio? or Altair in his elder years? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
Usually Ezio is smirking when we see him in a picture, the old guy in the picture looks angry.

I do believe that hidden blade is actually a hook if you look closely.

And yeah a few game sites (and GameInformer magazine who are getting a 12 page spread in a few days) have confirmed it's Ezio.

Well, GameInformer says that we'll see Ezio in Constantinople. And that IS Constantinople behind him...

Indeed, this is a screenshots only topic. For examples of topics like this look at previous ones from:

Assassin's Creed II (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/9571020567)
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/7901096168)

Btw; I've updated the fist post with a higher resolution screen.

I like too much of Ezio, but I expected another Desmond's ancestor and another time period. this will finally end the story of Ezio so the game will be AWSOME. EZIO THE BEST

I don't think it will, the website articles say that AC:R completes Ezio's story, and also a while ago somebody from Ubisoft said that with every numbered game, there would be a new character and a new setting. So don't worry, we'll have someone new in AC3, he'll have a lot to live up to though, whoever he (or she) is...

This is so cool! I wonder if we get to go to the medieval Constantinople too with Altair: This guy thinks so:

I really don't like the suit that much. I like the cool design of it but the animal skin stuff on his vambraces and on his shoulder really bother me the same way the stupid romulus suit did. I'm not wild about the hook either but I'm sure it has more functions then just with climbing. can't wait for E3 to see more of this. Also the suit just needs to be white and red.

animal skin help the shoulder to get hotter temperatures inside the outfit, at instanbul or at constantinople it's cold so ezio really needs it...

PS - I don't like romulus oufit but i like this one :P

Is Istanbul cold? I thought it was relatively warm there being the only place in the world that is both asian and european at the same time. Yeah I agree this one is better than the romulus one for sure but the fur still bothers me :P

I didn't like the Romulus one either at first, but when I upgraded to a bigger TV and HD, it looked pretty badass. The fur was meh, but the armor was awesome looking.

I'm thinking they just put him in his regular robes now so that we would know who he was when they revealed it.

I bet he rocks a different set in the actual game.

Although when they show him with Maria in AC2 he's rockin his regular outfit.

lol remember the first trailers of ACB and ACII..
Ezios first robes(or vambraces) were a little different from the final game's.. So only time will tell if thats still his same look so no need to worry about his robes.. For now lets discuss about what's coming next?!!!

Remember the christina flashbacks from brotherhood? Ezios equipment changed in each memory. I think it's going to be used in a similar way with altair, so we'll see a progression of his life and wardrobe as well.

I also like the use Masyaf symbol, ubi have done a good job continuing the plot of Lost Legacy.

And I'm glad Altair doesn't have his clothes changed. I've always loved his pure white robes and I was sad to know that in later games they were all shiny and stuff (like Ezio's).

Ezio and Altair are both DEAD as DEAD can be on the first three games.

Can I remind people about sizes...

Try and resize screen shots to 800x400 [or smaller] for posting on the forums, else it breaks the formatting.. it also drains the bandwidth for some people..

Please post a smaller image and links to full size..

Also be wary of copyright if posting scans - since they will be removed.

I can't imagine that being any kind of grappling hook, it'd break under the stress, and is the wrong shape.
Also it reduces the effectivness of the actuall blade, it won't go in as far anymore.

I think it'll be a grappling hook/counter device.

The explanation for it will be "It's just a game". Just watch.

The hook looks like an eagle's head.

As to what it actually does... I have no idea. But some weapons with hooks are used to trap your opponent. *shrug*

Oh, nvm, it's just a grappling hook thingy.

Where does it say at the same time...? If you're referring to the gamestop,1UP, etc. info, it clearly states " You will be playing as Ezio, Altair, and Desmond" Not even mentioning playing them simultaneously

As well as the brotherhood.

Seriously you can't comprehend it?

You play as Desmond who views Ezio's memories and "controls" Ezio while not actually manipulating what happened to Ezio. At some point in the game you, as Ezio, find artifacts that allow you, as Ezio, to view memories of Altair, and by "view" I mean you then play as Altair. The artifacts act as an Animus for Ezio.

Basically, you control Desmond who goes in Ezio's memories who goes in Altair's memories and you only control one character at a time.

It's like Xibit works for Ubisoft.

I had a feeling Ezio would hook up with some one here (Kind of obvious.) But it's cool cause now we get to see his bloodline slowly move out of the italian side.

Even though it's a stretch, since day 1 I've said Desmond looks like a french canadian (Modeled after one I think?) and i'm still sticking with him being that.

Yeah, doesn't look like Ezio at all.
Is that an official screenshot? I mean, the map and the characters over there look amazing. Can't see much of the characters, but at least the map.

There already is in brotherhood, more likely they will be introducing one for long weapons.

I noticed that as well. While im am glad that Ubi is at least acknowledging the Templar order is supposed to be like that. We will still have to see how well its presented in the story. And the girl in charge of MP did say we would be learning about abstergos ideas in MP, I think its much more important that the SP also show it, because a character who thinks about and question why he fights has a better reason for wanting to fight.

I think the templar ideology isnt even that. There is interesting moment in Mass Effect 2 that I think shows both Assassin and Templar views rather well. (Spoiler Alert BTW) Late game, you are given the choice of deciding the fate of the entire Geth race (Geth are AI based life). The Geth has divided into to factions, the "Legion" Geth which believe the Geth should work for themselves, and the "Heretic" Geth who believe they should help the far Superior reapers. Its explained that the difference in philosophy comes from a single difference in the way they compute data. Both ways are correct, but a small number change yields different results.

With a single decision you have two options:
- The "Assassin" Option is to kill every Geth that would otherwise try to stop Commander Shepard.
- The "Templar" Option is to reprogram the entire Geth Race to have the same beliefs as the 'Legion' Geth.

Either way Commander Shepard is not commanding the Army of Geth. Both ways ensure you no longer have a huge threat in dealing with hostile Geth. The Question is, do you decide to Kill everyone, or Do you Change them in a way that if they ever met their former selves, they would violently disagree with their former thought process.

I dont think there is a real "wrong" answer, by changing people you protect them from themselves and ensure no lives are lost, but By killing them you at least let them go down fighting for what they believe.

For a video that better explains this:

I think we will see Altairs death and what happened to him. I think that some of the game will revolve around Ezio finding out the secrets of Altair as they said in AC 2 that they know nothing about him and his mysteries. I then think that Altairs tomb possesses something that can be used and Desmond and co will travel to Istanbul and find whatever secret out and take a twist in the storyline.

Just theories haha. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But I am really liking the direction of the characters and location so I will let a bit of nonsense like this go for now as long as its fun and doesnt lead to more crazy stuff.

You'd think he'd keep his original robes rather than switching to a black set, just as to be nothing like his false master, Al Mualim. But, I bet he switched to black.

As for the Armor of Altair, I think the only part of that Altair would have is the actual armor as shown in the codex page:
Armor of Altair - Codex Page (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100529015427/assassinscreed/images/thumb/8/87/Zw-codex-19.png/428px-Zw-codex-19.png)
So I imagine he'd have this and his own set of robes.

Why it has Ezio style robes in the vault of which Ezio obtains it is beyond me, but I do not find it believable that Altair wore it like that.

Batman didn't invented the hook you know, it was used since the begining of time, so it only seems right to see Ezio using it.

I was thinking more about a magic little hook on a chord fired from the wrist which is strong enough to lift a person in a few seconds.
But luckily that's not the case.

My money is that those robes were added by the original Auditore, the bloke from the family tomb. Just because, baesed on my extremely limited konowlege, they didn't seem to fit Altair's middle eastern style.

I have a question. When the story in ACR is complete will we be able to choose to play as Altair or Ezio? Cause being able to play as both at will afterwards would be awesome.

I'm more curious about who's behind him.... It could just be another picture of Ezio or maybe his apprentices get similar robes again?

By the way, what's that Eagle-head-shaped-hook-thingy on his hidden blade? Maybe it's some sort of grappling hook or device used for climb leap. And why is he using a hidden blade while hanging in that position (will let they let us shoot poison darts from hanging position)?

edit: Wait, is it confirmed that's Ezio? or Altair in his elder years? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I do believe that hidden blade is actually a hook if you look closely.

And yeah a few game sites (and GameInformer magazine who are getting a 12 page spread in a few days) have confirmed it's Ezio. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Well, actually if you look closer, it looks as if there is a hook that is connected to the blade, its just an add on to the blade, like the gun, maybe you have to choose it and then it just comes out on the blade, but you still have double blades to stab with.

Thanks for the Desmond scan. What I meant to say was whether or not this screenshot/concept art meant that Desmond was presently located in Istanbul? Maybe the end of ACR will involve him waking in Istanbul? Then the next game would involve him moving to a new location- it would seem like a good segue potentially.

Those pillars for some reason remind me of the Abstergo architecture. Either way, I think that screen alone is very intriguing... enough to change my attitude about this game in a positive manner.

That is in the animus. He isn't walking about Constantinople; He is walking around in his own subconcscious.

@X10J

I am well aware that he is in the Animus- the floating pillars are pretty indicative of that. What I am saying is, that the background of that screenshot looks like a view of Istanbul from the water. Why would Desmond have that in the background? Is it a view of Ezio's memories, or is it a hint that Desmond has been moved to present-day Turkey? I realize that the structure of the game will be changing with the inclusion of the Black Room, so it will be interesting to see if that is Desmond attempting to access Ezio's memories or if it is some way related to his own memories.

I'm pretty stoked to know that Ezio's coming back for a last chapter. I've only started playing the saga in little over a month, so I haven't played Brotherhood just yet, but Assassin's 2 is definitely my favorite so far. As for what I've been reading about Revelations, I think it's really awesome just to be able to play in ancient Constantinople. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

@DeSabellis: I think that the Desmond shot definitely represents a subconcious reflex of Ezio's memories. It's really hard to assess whether or not that blurry sight really is Constantinople per se or modern Istanbul. It's interesting to notice that the shot is so similar to those "Inception" subconcious worlds, so to speak, and that the architecture is too futuristic, perhaps even for Abstergo. Maybe it's more a subconscious merge between passed memories and one's own futuristic notions and constructions. At least that's what I think.

I think that the background of that image is Eden. It looks too underpopulated and pastoral to be Istanbul. And that is where Desmond has to go, if you recall Subject 16's words...

Apart from a tiny glimpse in The Truth, we have no idea what Eden looks like. It doesn't have many buildings so I doubt it's Constatinople.
But hey, that's just an idea. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I think it would be insanely cool if Desmond reaches Eden! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, you make a good point. But wasn't Eden, like at the base of the Kilimanjaro? Because that shot of Desmond looks like a view from somewhere in the water, and from what I gather there's no water near the Kilimanjaro. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Don't count on that, the first screens always look amazing but far from what they'll look like in the game. They're bullshots.

Look at one of AC2's first screens.

Note quite sure why you posted those. The only thing they prove is that some architecture looks pretty nice close up.

AC2 still has all the problems of the console versions on PC and doesn't even come close to the bullshots posted.

Contrary to Acre, which was always so bleak and grey. Acre was one of the cities/places I enjoyed the least, that and the Monteriggioni Villa in Assassin's 2, which was also really dark and eerie. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

There's nothing like Jerusalem in Assassin's 1 or Florence and Venice in Assassin's 2. Florence is my personal favorite, take the outstanding architecture, the beautiful weather plus the amazing soundtrack and it was perfect, one of the greatest gaming experiences/moments I ever had, I loved it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Isn't there a rule for this sort of thing? I mean, for picture uploads, that is? Because any of the usual picture sofware can easily resize this. I mean, the picture doesn't even load here... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

Sorry - but super sized images break the forum formatting... so please resize all images to 800x600 and link to full sized images..

Sorry @notafanboy - the image was both too large.. and VERY blurred...

Well, that was kinda... blurred. Really blurred.
What I could see was Ezio in the front climbing a building, in the background some houses and a fountain.

To me.. looks like the phone is not focused..

Most new phones have an focus - you press and hold the button half way.. it should then focus the camera..

If it's a touch screen phone, such as the iphone, then you tap the screen http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Unless it's some new copy protection - to stop you posting scans / photo's of a magazine.. since doing that does breach copyright http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Do you have a digital camera? You could just use that if you can't get your phone to focus, just set it to macro.

Think the building could be "The Farm", because we already know Desmond will go in his own memory and see the farm other than just the black room.

Look at the image above it. The towers look the same, so i reckon it's Constantinople. Plus, The Farm was intended to be discreet I'd assume, so I doubt there'd be ma-hoo-sive towers there.

Desmond is unconcious during the game i believe, after the events at the end of Brotherhood. He is in his subconcious during his gameplay parts. Possibly meaning some crazy terrain.

That Facebook page doesn't look official, so I wonder where the newest photo came from. Looks legit though. They also have a scan of the photo that notafanboy took a picture of above. The caption on it is in Spanish and basically just says that climbing will be more fluid in the game thanks to the hook blade.

MP needs to be stylized more so that it doesn't have the same level of graphics as the SP so it performs better online.

It's stylized to look similar to SP but isn't at the same level as SP's graphics in other-words.

Has anyone seen this piece of art before, possibly in full? When my copy of this issue arrived that was the first thing I saw and I've been after it since. It's probably my favourite promo image for the game so far.

I'm guessing it will still look a bit bland in the unfinished game.

There are 9 cities that they will have to make from scratch.

The first screenshot looks like it's from the Assassin's Den defence mini-game. It seems like the feature will let you assign weapons to your Brotherhood and manage other aspects of the den's defence, like a barricade mentioned on that screenshot. I wouldn't be surprised if all the elements on the streets disappear when you are moving around this mini-game since the important elements are the buildings, not people and carts on the streets.

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yeah that thought crossed my mind too.

Very interesting. You could be right.

Why would they have a character model though? He has been dead for 35 years by the time of Revelations.

I don't know I was thinking the exact same thing. He died in 1476 when Ezio would have only been 17 or so.

Maybe Ezio will have a vision of him, when he is exploring Vlads prison. Like how he saw Altair at Masyaf.

This is just a photo on a photo That guy in the background is Ezio in a concept art overlooking Constantinople

Nine?! That's massive! If we'll be able to move freely between them all like in AC2, it'll be brilliant. This game is getting better and better. It has far surpassed my excitement level for Brotherhood.

Actually, it's 10 cities, and they are just the cities on the contract list for the Assassin recruits. The tower defense thing is in Constantinople for the Assassin dens.

So far, the only confirmed free-roam cities/towns are Masyaf, Cappadocia, Constantinople, and Hama (the small gamescom village).

The count is definately not going to actually be Vlad, but he's obviously meant to be the same archetype as him (Transylvanian evil count.) A quick glance at vlad's painting shows that they're not near the same body type.

Oh. But still, four cities is still massive. This will be an amazing game.

Not a single other mutliplayer character has been historically accurate, and as I said, he really doesn't match Vlad's body type. If they were going to make him a multiplayer character, they would have at least gotten that obvious fact right.

William of Montferrat and Robert de Sable were depicted younger than their real counterparts, so why can't Vlad differ from his real counterpart?

King Richard also spoke perfect English in the game and Robert de Sable had a strong French accent when in reality, King Richard spoke very little English and Robert de Sable was actually in his 50s or 60s in 1191.

Even if the game would be to contain 9, 10 cities, plus the story missions and the multiplayer, would that all be able to fit on one Xbox 360 disc, and one PC disc?

I don't know much about how much memory 360 and PC discs can hold, so.

Obviously PS3 uses Blu-Ray, but I'm not sure if 360 and PC use their own kind of specialized discs.

I'm pretty sure 360 just uses standard DVD's, don't they?

By the way, I'm not trying to start a console/PC war.

Please, no fanboyism.

Well, I think we can attribute some of that to the fact that almost everyone (basically everyone except some guards) speaks English in the game, so that can be justified and Robert not looking his age might just be a combination of generally looking younger than his age and the level of the graphics of the game.

True everyone speaks English however Robert de Sable speaks with a strong French accent and Richard does not.
