Hi all!

Just wondering if anyone could point out a good A/C mag, with its main focus on WW2 aircraft, based in Europe.
Also, does anyone know if the german mag "Flugzeug" still exists ( saw it last time about 10 years ago, excellent..) ??

Thanx

Most of the American publications are fluff

Best bet is British magazines, a good balance of articles, mostly British, but plenty of German, and also a fair ammount of other nations' stories and such, too

try "Aeroplane" magazine, the best
also, "Air Enthusiast" is really good
"Fly Past" is ok, too

The EAA publishes a Warbirds newsletter/mag if memory serves. . . their sites are down now though. usually eea.org will take you to their, once on the main page they have a warbirds link.

Warbirds International is OK.

IF you can find any Warbirds Worldwide mags, pick them up. Unfortunately, the publication is defunct. I miss Mark Hanna's articles

I have heard "Avions" to be quite good, some of the guys there also have a mag here in Romania, "Aeromagazin", wich is excelent.

Unfortunately Mark Hanna is dead. Killed in a Hispano Buchon crash I beleive. A very sad loss. By all accounts he was a great person.

aircraft.

Aeroplane monthly as mentioned above and Flypast are the two best ones (UK Magazines)

web sites shows what they do each month and ordering info are at

http://www.aeroplanemonthly.com/

http://www.flypast.com/

you wont be dissapointed with them, I get them every month and use them as skinning reference as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

your 'Flugzeug' was taken over and renamed 'Flugzeug Classic' and seems to be still available see

Wings and Airpower can both be pretty good. Although they have that really bizarre habit seen in several US magazines of splitting the pages of an article up and scattering them throughout the publication. Do they think the attention span of their readers cannot stretch to reading four pages in a row? If anyone can explain the reasoning behind this I'd truly love to know!

Wings
FlyPast
Aviation History
Flight Journal

These are the ones I subscribe to and I like Flight Journal and FlyPast the best for AC information. Aviation History has excellent articles usually in the pilots own words.

Yep everyone has hit the most popular ones in previous posts. Flight Journal has special issues that focus on specific planes. I picked up one for LW planes you can see it here http://www.flightjournal.com/fj/store/viewissue.asp?issueid=gerf
UK mags are more intense than American publications for the most part. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Oh, yes, I forgot about USA's "wings" and "airpower" mags...

they stand out from all other US mags as quality...however, a new publisher/editor came in last year, and quality has dropped dramatically...i dont even boither with them anymore....but they have back issues online to order
