The yaks model have been around the first il2 and never were updated.

Now look at the cockpit dimensions.
The top should be much rounder and the window taller.

yak9U ve real Yak9U

I did a quick compression of this.

This demand will be as sucessful as the wish to rework the sight in the FW 190 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The one in the photo might have had its armoured glass removed which would account for allot.

Look at the height of the windows and shape of the cockpitand the bar is too low.

Could it be a subvariant of the Yak9U? Or different because of a different factory? or and early or late version? Or a repair job using a different canopy and wind sheild?

The gun sight and all top of the instrument panel looks different as well but that could have been removed for a number of reasons I guess.

I am with Ivan on this one. I want perfection as much as the next guy but time to leave the old engine behind. Bring on BoB.

More curves, less angles! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Note also the in-game shot is from straight on, and the real life photo shot a little obliquely UP from inside the pit. This alone can cause the distortions that have been noted.

Anybody who's rivet counting needs to be shot immediately. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif You try modeling and texturing these suckers...!

This pit is absolutely fine: it's at least 90% correct, the "mistakes" have NO EFFECT on game play (unlike the FW190, *cough* *cough*), so let it alone already. This is the kind of nitpicking that should be reserved for the FLIGHT MODELING, where you want it to be about 98% right!

Yep yep yep...save it up for a post-BoB world. Oleg said he was returning to the Eastern Front sometime and I can't wait to see what they will do!

Stiglr look at the video link above.

I agree for BOB BUT Oleg or why what ever compagny make new planes.. right? why?
why not fix existing or make flyable AI planes.

lets some third party fix it. and yes papa Oleg can concentrate in BOB for 2006 and lets play with some yaks and others from il2 original.

It will be BOB so not many planes.
german plane will be in desavantage for shure with a lot of "out of fuel" troubles.

be ready to fly Hurricanes. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I see what you mean about the top of the canopy being rounder, but still, what effect does this have on gameplay? None. It's not like you've got a Bf110 cockpit frame standing in for it. Looks to me like it's a Yak; close enough for government work.

Again, it's this type of misprioritized thinking that is the problem. I'd rather the flight models be spot on than each rivet and bolt, and I'd rather not have planes "held back" because they can't get the cockpit 100% right.... especially when this film appears to show they can't get the pit 100% right when they DO have resources.

Hope you didn't buy a 6800 gt or ati top of the line .. what for? better graphics? why you just need a Gforce 400 mx 640X480 should be enough.
In that case CFS3 is far enough then.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It's a simulation it should be as close as possible to reality, If not, some of the members are right to call it just a game.

papa Oleg should work in already existing plane and not adding more and more planes. IMO

What is the hardest? implement some updated great looking cockpits to enjoy the most of it? or create new planes with all the physics and calculations for it and enjoy them as well..

I agree... lets' wrap up FB and PF first. Let's have one last add on including all the "almost ready" planes around (Catalina, Italian rigs, Pe-2, etc.) and the new maps. Then, move on to BOB!

Yak cockpit is like 109K cockpit -- good enough.

Su~2 cockpit needs some work.
