View Full Version : Is the aircraft selection different between "Player" and "Computer" in QMB??

I first noticed this in QMB yesterday. Only if I choose the Axis as the computer opponent, I can select some specific planes associated with "aces" (Hartmann's 109 G6 or Nowotny's Me 262) as my opponents. However, if I choose to be the Axis, those planes are not available. I had never noticed this because I always flew as a German. Is this the way it is, or do you think something's wrong with my installation? Granted, I've installed tons of skins, but I doubt I screwed up at all.

Out of the total 200+ planes about 40% are playable.

For a list of them and a guide describing each of the flyable ones download this guide: http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/IL2/il2_essential_files.htm#001

Thanks for the link!

All I want to know is whether other players can select some aces' planes as the opponent in QMB, or whether my installation is screwed up...

Actually I think that almost 70% of all aircraft are flyable, i.e. ~180 out of a total of ~260.

Those aces' planes are nothing but ordinary aircraft with aces' skins, and yes, you can download aces' skins from the internet and select them for your own aircraft.

BTW those aces can also be selected as friendly AI flights, not only on the enemy side.
