fair play to her, it will be interesting to see how it looks when its finished.

what do you reckon though, do you think if you popped and engine in there it could fly? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

WOW!
Thanks for posting.

If it's build with all the correct materials & is tested I would have thought you'd be able to fly it. It dont get much better than copying the blueprints.

I have a really large garage. I'd let her use it if she was building something better looking like a 10-ton mud pie or bride of frankenstien.

A woman doing such things has broke her chains and got too far away from the kitchen.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Wow, thats a great inspirational story. Her son and the cause motivates her, thats great.

Some of us worry about not having the time or will to do things not even a fraction of the effort she's putting into this, but she proves it can be possible. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I wonder if she needs a free helping hand? When I travel to Europe this year, maybe I could get a part-time job working for her. Of course, it wouldn't really be a job, but an adventure. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

OT. Remeber a project in a local school a year ago or so, students could perticipate in building an aircraft ( no perticular model or so, old 50`s Cessna type of thing ) on their spair time if they wanted. The project had to be scraped due to lack of intrest, kiddies didnt whant to waste their presious leasur time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Whoa.

Perhaps I should get my hands on 1,000,000 bucks and some P-47 blueprints?

I think I love her. When a woman says "I have my own Spitfire I built in my garage." I get all a-twitter. Having your own Spitfire can make up for a lot of other flaws.

The fuselage was the easy bit....... but making the wing spars will be a nightmare. The spar booms consisted of five square concentric tubes which fitted into each other- no doubt these pieces were made from extrusions. Without the proper tooling, I don't see how this can be duplicated. Full marks to the lady for coming this far though- it's an extremely impressive effort. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Does anybody know whether Brewster Buffalo blueprints still exist?
