I'm getting confused here, I just mapped out my "level stabilization" key and it works excellent, when flying my Heinkel online I can now be perfectly level and go to the bombadier position and line up the site and drop bombs without having to keep fighting to keep the plane level. For the longest time I kept thinking the "automation"
key, next to the auto pilot key, would keep the plane level but it would drift all over the place putting the bombsite out. What is the "automation" key for anyway?

i too for ages thought the autopilot automation was the level thingy .... what fools we are !!

the autopilot automation is for when you move position in a bomber

with it on - when you move to a position the autopilot (or auto gunner) for that postion will be automatically switched off - and the autopilot for the position you just left will be switched on.

with it off -when you switch position you will have to manually switch off the autopilot for the position you have just moved into and manually switch it on for the position you just left ( IIRC this also allows you to control the plane when in a gunner position)

it may be the other way round - i can't quite remember /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

You should use the elevator trim to keep your aircraft nice and level even when using the level stabiliser.Works on my Hurribus so unless the He 111 doesn't have elevator trim, it should work on that too.

Toggling autopilot autmation simply enables or disables to take control when oyu switch positions.

eg. If automation is on, if you switch to the rear guner, the AI will automatically take over the pilot position. If automation is off, the AI will not take over the pilot position.
