Ok, so we know about the feet head arms with/without weapons and intensity, but what about the other buttons (on 360 for example the left trigger and bumper and right bumper).Im just confused and surprised if those are the only buttons in the game

Don't worry it's also used in English to mean Claxon. I guess not all native-English speakers know that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

but yeah I think the buttons make sense if you think about it. I mean with the engine that reconginzes all the arcitetcrual detail, it also probably recongizes how the play interacts (hands/feet/head) with each piece.

I'm quite sure I remember hearing that the analog sticks control movement.

Hahaha! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

RT for hard push? Unless you have to hold RT to run then that would make sense, as they had said since almost the beginning of the game, if you are walking you just generally nudge people out of your way, but the faster you move, the more you push and shove them out of your way.

So my question is, Do you hold RT to run? Or any button for that matter.

Phreaky_McGeek

We don't know. All we know is that it's used to enhance the strength or speed of an action.

First-Endever
05-29-2007, 10:25 AM
K, thanks Phreaky.

I would like holding a button to run, more then just more force to the analogue stick, I like to walk in games, it makes you look more bad ***, and sometimes it's kind of hard to walk in games, when you put the analogue all the way up to run, cause then you have to hold it at a certain degree, and all. Hah.

That and it would make walking through crowds more efficient because you wouldn't have to hold it at a certain degree, just hold another button.

This is pure speculation but I think you will just have to press it once to toggle it on/off, at least, that's what I hope it is. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Did you play the PotC demo? You had to hold the Right Trigger to sprint...

OoOo, that would be nice, your right chewie.

From the gameplay video, there will obviously be some way to control the camera independently, which is normally given to the right analogue stick in '360 games, and some way to switch between 3rd-person and 1st-person view (as demonstrated in the video when Jade says she hears shouts below, while Altair is climbing the wall, and the developer helping her turns Altair's head to look).

Also walk/run is generally controlled by how much you push the analogue stick in a given direction - and that is intuitive and easy to control. But really I'm sure there won't be any problems with the controls - they have mentioned focusing on ease-of-control of the character.

Okay, for the first part there, you are way off base.
Second, that has already been mentioned about the run/walk push analogue stick, and mentioned by me, so that was a completely pointless post there trojanfoe, stop trying to get a higher post count or something.

Really this is a pointless post as well, but I can't stand not pointing this type of thing out.

Why am I off base - why don't you explain yourself?

It's OK for you to post "OoOo, that would be nice, your right chewie." but anything I post, with my interpretation of the video, is wasting everyone's time is it? Get off my back.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif First-Endever can you pls NOT behave like you care about of someone is getting a higher post count and you definatly do not have the right to speak since you posted

OoOo, that would be nice, your right chewie.
Trojan made a good post, You're not a moderator or anything. If something is wrong with trojans's post Zgubilici will say so, she doesn't need you to do it.
Thank you.

i was under the impression that altair walked unless you held the intensity button, having it work as a toggle button rather than having to hold it down would irritate me, plus then it would make all the buttons high intensity so you'd have to press it again for low intensity and that would get old fast. i'm pretty certain that you'll have to hold the intensity button down to use it, even to run.

trojanfoe
05-30-2007, 05:53 AM
Well it's possible - it's all just speculation at this point - however it seems pointless to have an analogue stick that makes the walk/run intuitive and natural and not to use it. Most players will be used to it in '360 games. The intensity button might just be used for other actions, like attacking, and maybe climbing etc.

Obviously Rubent and Trojan cannot see why I posted what I did against Trojan.

He was off base, I was staying on the topic of the thread, he was not.

This thread is not about the video.
Only about gameplay buttons.

Erm, my post was only about gameplay buttons. I mentioned the videos to show where I got my impressions about the buttons from - where else is there to get these impressions from?

You seem to be back-pedelling there First-Endever. Just be cool, there are no problems.

Not to argue, but you were talking about the camera angels at first. Either way, it is not a big deal, I am not mad or annoyed or anything, and maybe if thats not what you intended we have a misunderstanding then.

According to Gamepro.com (http://www.gamepro.com/sony/ps3/games/previews/57415.shtml) there will be two intensity buttons. A low intensity shoulder button and a high intensity shoulder button.

This same logic can be applied to combat and other maneuvers.

The best I can assume this means is that if you aren't holding either of the intensity buttons down your speed will be governed by how far you have the analog stick pointed but that you won't push or shove people.

That's just my two cents, I'd like to hear other thoughts.

Boromir323
05-30-2007, 05:20 PM
I would think if your not holding either button Altair would go into a sort of "neutral" mode, where hes not trying to "squirm past people" and not roughly throwing them out of the way either.

If you have to hold down RT for intensity, it would make running/fighting/pushing at the same time very very difficult...which would kinda be cool because I love a nice challenge. I'm trying to think of a game I played once where the walking was way too slow and the running was too fast and hard to control....if anybody has a gamr tat is that way, tell me so I can remember.
