I'm new to FB-AEP-PF. Don't have PF yet, but bought FB Gold, and spent a few days looking around the install, printing off the manuals, and getting things set up. Haven't flown yet, but today's the day.

I was a F4 flyer since it we on the shelves, until Lockon came out of course. Then never looked back.

Now I find myself where I've never been before. Excited about a prop sim, PF.

So hello to all. I hope to make myself at home here :-)

PS. I will most certainly stay true to form and fly for the American side only. I guess history dictates that for me. Helpful info, links, say hello? Anything is helpful. :-)

PPS. Great tracks are always appreiciated. I love watching what others do :-) And I'm still waiting for someone to reenact Pearl Harbor, and put it into a movie. Any takers?

Welcome to the community!

I'm sure you'll have a blast...just try to stay above all of the infighting we have here. Don't let it turn you off one of the best sims of its time.

There are certainly lots of aircraft to fly and definately alot of American ones but be sure not to just limit yourself if you don't have to. In any case...I can't think of any good specific links but be sure to check out www.netwings.org, (http://www.netwings.org,) www.airwarfare.com, (http://www.airwarfare.com,) and www.simhq.com (http://www.simhq.com) for some excellent community resources. SimHQ has a section on prop plane ACM which you may find comes in handy. I haven't flown F4 but I can imagine the F-16 is going to be a little different than a Hellcat or a Spitfire in terms of what manuvers its capable of.

Hello and welcome,
Don't limit yourself to just the US planes, for apart from the fact that most of the others are great fun, the best way to understand your enemy is knowing what he can and can't do, and the best way to do that is to fly his aircraft.
Cheers!

Thanks for the replys so far...

Dunkelgrun,
The reason I limit myself to US planes are for a few reasons.

First, being a military plane buff all my life, those are the ones I know best.

Second, because of time constraints, I can't fly them all.

Third, I like one plane sims the best really cause it make me focus on one and I get to learn it well. So I want to focus on a few only and get good at them. I want to do well in the air and that's the only way I can do it.

By the way, Does anyone have a good P51 training mission? Something very easy :-)

Thanks everyone.

I can't disagree with that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. There's still aircraft from the original Il-2, that I've had for 2 1/2 years, and never flown. And I'm still a poor fighter pilot, jack of all planes and master of none. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Except maybe the Komet.

Good luck and have fun. Cheers!

Wellcome to Forgotten Board.

The best USA pilots jumped at the chance to test fly enemy planes. Because this is "international" flight sim, for the first time in your life you have opportunity to learn about airplanes, like Frank Tinker...

Actually, I think he was the first human to ever shoot down Bf~109. Not sure.
