I had some apare time while waiting for some programs to compile, and didn't want to think long enough to come up with real questions... so... I figured I'd just thrown some out there for the heck of it.

If you don't want to piss off a lot of people in the UK you might want to change English to British. I'm English so I'm not bothered so much - but a lot of Scots Welsh Ulster and Cornishmen are going to be volubly upset!

The diversity of nationalities with an interest in this game is astounding. Again, I apologize for not being able to include every country...

It would be great to have a truly adaptive poll form where specific entries were recorded, but c'est la vie.

On teh other issues, probably more Red than Blue, but then Red's got the best twin attack aircraft. If it wasn't for my current Tempest offensive I'd be more blue than red when it comes to F/A, isn't Anjelina Jolie lovely, you still reading? Totally twin carbed that girl, eh? Those lips won't last, see when she's fifty she'll have a bad back and an imploded face, Lord how *****y am I? Anyway, Tempest V, what a ride. Bf-109 F4, it's no Spitfire, but I do love it.

You do realize that being an Amerikan doesn't denote what Kountry that you're from. It could be Brazil... Even if you had said, "North Amerikan," it could mean Mexikan, Kanadian, or that you're a pinche gabacho! "Amerika" is officially listed as "United States of America," thus falling near the very end of any alphabetical list :\/

They haven't included Pennsylvania Dutch and I'm most insulted! At least my brothers from Mexico, Central America, and South America were also excluded so we can band together and kry racial/kultural discrimination.

Oh by the way, this is a pinche poll not a discussion!

As for racial blood lines or ansetery my entire family on both side (Paternal & Maternal) are Scot & Native American. My father being a Henderson which is currently a registern & renowned clan, and my mother being a Chambers which is a sept of Cameron.

For a history of Clan Henderson go HERE. (http://www.clanhendersonusa.org/index.htm)
For a history of Clan Cameron go HERE. (http://www.clan-cameron.org/)

And on both sides, there was interracial marriges and off spring with Native Americans.
My Grandpaw Henderson used to say that there was "enogh Indian in the wood pile to heat the house for a whole winter". A joke he could openly make considering his mother, grand mother and great grandmother were eaither full blooded Creek or half creek and Scottish. There was another joke he used to makeabout it but i'll save that since i don't wish to offend anyone. All i'll say is it envoles the size of a piticular part of the male anatomy and stamina. rolf.

thank God for good genetics. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Understanding the interminglings of Scot & Irish Celts who imigrated to North America & the indiginous peoples who lived here is not a difficult task.

There was a strong connection between the Scots in early America and the Native Americans.
Some say that it was in fighting that their love and mutual respect was discovered. Indeed, among the earliest professions listed by the Scottish in early America was "Indian fighter". Yet, many Scots fought equally hard to try and prevent the abuse and destruction of the Native American way of life.

That there was an positive interaction between the Native American Indian tribes and the earliest of the Scots and Scot-Irish immigrant settlers is beyond question. The thought process, however, leads one to wonder why this special bond between the two widely disparate groups was so successful and, seemingly, universal throughout the North American continent. There is no other link between the indigenous tribes and any other immigrant stream that resulted in the amazing amalgamation that was the product of the Scot - American Indian association. Was it the mutuality of the outcast that brought them into this situation? If the truth be told, it is apparent that the wealthy Scot and Scot-Irish landholder had no more use for the native Americans than did the British, the Dutch, the French or the Spanish of means. It was those on the fringes of society and civilization that made the leap of faith to become aware of the similarities of faith, feeling, history and community that made the match a natural winner. But the roots of that success lie deep within the ancient history of the Celts, who were the stock from which the Scot and Irish tribes drew their culture.

Scotland's immigration population of the 17th and 18th century is a hearty mixture of Pict, Viking, Anglo-Saxon, Norman, Celt and those who were first, "the ancient ones", the indigenous early settlers of the Islands. Obviously, the westward migration of the earliest Germanic and Celtic tribes from the Caucasus and Eastern European areas had the effect of forcing the earlier inhabitants further to the West. There are sites of communities that predate Stonehenge all along the Northern and Western coastline of Scotland and Eastern coast of Ireland, indicating that there were existing infrastructures in place long before the first of the recognized Scottish tribal groups came into power and began the trade patterns with Northern and Western Europe that were to sow the seeds of further incursions into the mainland cultures that established the foundations of the Highland and Island Clan structure that was so uniquely Scottish.

But tracing back you Native American ansestery is a lot more difficult than tracting back that of a Scott. With the latter you have a SURNAME in which to go by. so you actually have a starting point. and most of those are of a PATERNAL LINE folowing the fathers bloodline.
that cannot be done in regards to Native American blood lines. since (in my case) in Cheerokee & Creek cultures there where no such surnames. In Cheerokee & in a larger part Creek Culture named People by there deeds and not nessaseraly whom thier parrents were. and in BOTH the rights of linage if any follwed MATERNAL lines.

Often times in Cheerokee & Creek cultures childereen were named for the first thing that was seen outside the lodge. So if 2 dogs were seen they would be named "2 dogs", until they reached an age were they begean to become more of an active member of the tribe and were then given names that were derived from thier deeds. Such as "Lies alot" "She Climbs tree" "horse talker" ect.

Which makes it very difficult from a genology standpoint to trace ancestery among Native American Tribes. to even compound the situation even further when Native women were married off to these Scotish families they were often given "good Christian names" which tribal resaerchrs cannot help you trace.

But as bad as that is, it's much worse for an Africain American resaerching thier genology. they can only go back a one or two generations before most hit that same kind of wall as i hit with my native american ansetery.
it's the equivilant of hitting an genological brick wall.

So basialccy that's it. I'm Scot, Cherokee & Creek on both sides Paternal & Maternal.
