D'ni history from pre-Earth times all the way up to about 7000 is documented in the Kings' Archives underneath the Palace. All well and good. Oftentimes these tomes refer to a major event called the "Mee-Dis War", a conflict that I can't find any information on in any of my sources. As far as I can tell, the Mee-Dis War has something to do with outsiders entering D'ni on their own volition and ability.

My question is: does anyone know anything about the Mee-Dis War and the Time of the Guild Lords, and does anyone believe this period to be significant?

Well, the Era of Lords lasted from the abdication of Kerath until the Fall of D'ni, so I would call it a significant period. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But, we have very little historical documentation for the bulk of the era, up until the final period beginning with the birth of A'gaeris. Uru simply never got the chance to expand our knowledge of that era, though I'm sure that it would have done so eventually.

I have no doubt that the Mee-Dis War was significant. Just about everything mentioned in the DRC notebooks was a promise of stories to be told and discoveries to be made as Uru progressed, from the hidden vault of King Naygen to the actual events surrounding the death of Faresh's daughter. Some of those stories would probably have been told within the first year or so, while others were hints of things to come in the longer term. Uru had grand designs built in right from the beginning.

The Mee-Dis War was bound to be an important plot element, since it was mentioned so many times. It was surely a formative element in D'ni culture as we know it at the time of the Fall. However, the notebooks contain all the information we have. We had no clue that there was such a war before the notebooks were revealed, and it is not mentioned in the novels or other games even in passing. All we can do is hope that some day, some way, Cyan will find a way to tell us this untold story.

Who says it has to be Cyan? If they can't or won't do it, I'd be willing to buy it under any other label.
