Interesting location for Assassin HQ, almost looks like a derelict building in Rome... oh wait.

I actually spotted Danny Wallace as an extra in the film Yes Man with Jim Carrey. He's standing at the bar during the engagement party scene. I was like 'Wait, why the hell is Shaun Hastings at that party?' lol

lol,
nice to know the shaun and lucy do change clothes
cause
Shaun did have a logo on his vest
and lucy now has a jacket.
architech does look like relic or medterianing... so i recon Italy is the future location http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

i still don't know why they use abstergo tech ( logo on the computers)
arn't thoese things tracked?

Are they in the Colosseum Robson?

Haha, what a genius of a teaser. Nice taste of the Modern Part of the game! I literally lol'd when it said 'Shaun Hastings, The Historian (in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood)' http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

New outfits all round eh?

Very Good! Thanks a lot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well yeah, he just so happens to be the author of the book "Yes Man" which the film is very loosely based on.

Lol, same!

But remember with AC2, they only showed a second or two of Modern Day gameplay in one of the last Dev Diaries!

Hopefully they will have more on it because it's a bigger part of the game!

w00000tttttt! SHAUNY!!!

If you don't get to pester and annoy the living daylights out of Shaun then I will be very disappointed (but good on ya Ubisoft, Shaun is the Meg [from Family Guy... duh] of ACB w00t!)

Edit - I've watched it about 5 times now and on the very first time I watched it I was trying to work out who they were talking about

"In 2009 a legend was born" immediately got rid of Desmond in my mind

"An expert in his field" I thought Leonardo or Ezio

"A technical genius" made me go more to Leo's side but also kind of thinking of Ezio

"A trained killer" made me think "Yep, definitely Ezio, but weird way to describe him

"In 2010 he returns" I was just thinking "We get it! Ezio's back!"

"Danny Wallace is Shaun Hastings" I was like "WHAT??!!??!! Shaun-y???"

"The Historian" I was still in shock from the above bit

The rest I just cracked up at

I do recall a brief scene in a video i can't find of Desmond escaping Abstergo with Lucy. Plus in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df8irXxj3zw&feature=channel) there are a couple of brief scenes of Modern (one is the loading screen but still...)

There's only one place it looks similar to, it's not exactly the same but it has certain similaritys and it would definately be a cool place for the modern day Assassins HQ.

If they go to the Monterrigioni, and spoiler warning, they escape the hideout in a truck that means that the modern day environment could take place in italy (meaning that abstergo and the hideout are placed in italy),
maybe or they may take air or sea transport from the hideout to get too italy.

OMG!! THOSE PICS ARE AWESOME!

Where did you get them??

Thanks so much!

Well that clears up the location of the Modern Game! Mont is the perfect place for the base IMO! It seems that room wasn't damaged by the Seige...

OMG! I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHIGN AWESOME!
ACB will start straight away with Ezio coming back from Rome, and the Villa getting destroyed etc. then Desmond wakes up panting from the gunshot and someone's like "We're here now" and then he gets out of the truck and sees the villa which is not there anymore (having been destroyed) and is like "Wait, i just saw this get destroyed..." and then they go underground and stuff!

What do you guys think??

BTW what room are they in in the third pic?

And there's the hidden blade on Desmond for you guys in the last pic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Thanks a lot for posting those... but like i said, where did you get them?

I'd take a guess and say that's the back of the truck, I think you can see the cabin through the window.

Also, I don't think that is a hidden blade, it's something alright.. but not that.

In my opinion Desmond's beard is a bit out of place (didn't he end AC2 without a beard?)

and his hidden blade covers up his awesome tattoo! check out the thread about Desmond's "new" look

I like his bag tho

Btw, in the third pic, is there a clownfish on steroids (my way of saying something's hUgE) behind Desmond's head?

Altair's statue looks kinda filled in (someone plz enlarge the computer screen behind Shaun in pic 1, might show u whether or not it is)

I know no-one cares but it looks like Shaun's got these cool glasses that my mum has that go dark when it's sunny and go clear when it's dark (Check out 2nd pic)

Why not. What would it be other than the blade? Why wouldn't he have the blade? And what makes it not look like the blade?

EDIT: I took a closer look and to me it seems like the Hidden Blade/Gun combination, but just with straps instead of a bracer, allowing him to show of the tattoo.

Ah, I finally get where this is:

http://s59.radikal.ru/i166/1009/b6/288188deecaa.gif

It's in the van. So we'll be playing from right where Assassin's Creed II ended in modern time as well.

EDIT: Hmm, they said they would travel to a cabin up north, so it may be safe to assume that they at least travelled in the direction, although Monteriggioni is probably not that cabin.
If they indeed did travel north to Monteriggioni, then the warehouse in AC2 wasn't in Florence, since that is quite a bit north of Monteriggioni. Of course they might have had to change course for some reason... Well, guess we'll have to wait and see.

The one on the middle left is Borgia, by the look of it.

The large pic just to the left above Shaun is Cesare Borgia. The woman would either be Cesare's sister or Caterina Sforza. The top right is Pope Alexander VI(Borgia). Not sure if the one you mentioned is Borgia or not. The bottom right, not so sure...Machiavelli, a cardinal?

The three guys in the bottom left, the middle one is Machiavelli, I' pretty sure, the left one looks like a cardinal. Not sure about the guy on the right of the picture though.

Well one of the pictured scenes seems to take place in the van, so I personally think we'll start off in the van. Aside from that, modern day Monteriggioni has no such villa, just another entrance. So it makes sense that it was rebuilt that way after the siege.

Hm... it'd be disappointing to have Cesare and Rodrigo Borgia and not Lucrezia along with them. Though, in truth, the poor girl was just a pawn in Borgia / Papal power-marriage alliances and not the monster of Lutherian myth.

On a lighter note, kind of regret impugning Shauny as a potential traitor because of his mockney public school accent. Still think that, but didn't know a good egg like Danny Wallace was the model / voice actor!

Couldn't it be plausible that some time passes for Desmond at some point in the game (similar to how it passed for Ezio in ACII but not exactly) which would allow Desmond to grow his beard out? Maybe they have to travel a decent distance to get to the Villa. Or maybe time passes while at the villa. We're only seeing a static screen shot of him with little to no context as to time.

I agree. The hidden blade is covering up his cool tattoo too much. However, it does seem adjusted from the original to show it off more than Ezio's would have (his was more of a bracer or gauntlet than the straps of... leather? that Desmond's is).

I'd assume the "clownfish on steroids" that you're referring to may be supplies. Like juice or brightly color boxed food. Or bags of chips. There are more of what you're wondering about in the first picture to the left of and behind Shaun.

Where do you see Altair's statue? I only see the statues of other assassins that you had to bring the seals to. None of them look like they're in the alcove where Altair's statue was (nor do they look like his statue). Am I missing what you're seeing?

Yeah, I know the glasses you're talking about. I have the name of them on the tip of my tongue, but I can't remember... "Transitions" maybe?

It's a good question. The buildings outside make it look like Florence. But Florence is north of Monteriggioni, the location of their new base. They say at the end that they'll go to a "cabin up north". Likely that's not Monteriggioni, but they were probably heading in that direction, unless they were forced to change direction.

Well, that's about all there is about their possible location...

I gotta disagree. Abstergo is CLEARLY in North America. So is the safehouse from AC2. The only explanantion is that Desmond and his friends traveled a long way-all the way to Italy-in order to get to Monterregioni.

Fair enough, did not really look into that much but if you look at the surrounds before you go to the hideout, you can see a more advanced and more technology relent society, im not questioning thats it not in italy, just where it is, Rome, Florence, etc, where could Abstergo hold their corporation?

Well, if u think about it, this is 2012, where Florencecould have built places like this. A lot can change in 2 years. Also, Abstergo could be in Napoli, which has skyscrapers! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I gotta disagree. Abstergo is CLEARLY in North America. So is the safehouse from AC2. The only explanantion is that Desmond and his friends traveled a long way-all the way to Italy-in order to get to Monterregioni. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

What's so clear about it being in NA? The Italian signs? The Florentine-like buildings outside the base's windows? The 'cabin up north' which seems to be Monterigironi?

You gave no reasons at all for it being there, you merely said it's there. Just because they have American accents, doesn't mean they are in America. It could be an American Company, employing American people, which spread to Italy and they send Vidic and Lucy there.

So tell me what clear signals i am missing of it being in North America? And don't say Skyscrapers because like i said, Napoli has them too!

I think it was most certainly meant to be in somewhere in NA in AC1 but since there were no definite signs indicating it was, it was no problem for them to switch it in the second. That's probably where the general confusion comes from. And yeah I think it's safe (without a doubt really) to say they're in Italy in AC2. Question is how Desmond got there? Either he was captured in NA and taken there or he was already living there. I'd say it's the former.

I agree, although I don't think that Monteriggioni is the "cabin up north". If it was, they would've likely just said Monteriggioni, as Desmond knows the place even better than them. I think something must have cause them to change course to Monteriggioni.

But yeah, everything points to the Abstergo building and the warehouse being in Italy.

I hope you're being sarcastic... If you're not, then how on Earth are they supposed to drive from North America to Italy in the van? All the signs in the game (This is the second time I've said it) are in Italian. When Lucy and Desmond are escaping, in the parking garage all the signs and levels are in Italian.

I'm mostly only playing the devil's advocate here, but...

Who says the "cabin up north" isn't still in the US. Then, later in ACB (which is why Desmond then has a beard by then) they need to take a plane to the Villa in Italy? Isn't that just as possible?

LOL Again, I'm only playing devil's advocate. I don't really care where anything is (except when they're in the villa it needs to be in the right place).

Apparently, the warehouse was somewhere in Rome, as Tuscany is north of Rome, and Monterriggioni seems to be where they headed, and the picture in the truck is probably the very beginning cutscene of the game.
All's making sense now.
And to the above, currently, skyscrapers are being planned in a bunch of areas around Rome, and if you guys have ever seen the EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma-Universal Exposition, Roma) there are Rome's idea of tall buildings, so you can't say that Abstergo isn't in Rome.

Clearly the most logical.

it could always be descendants reliving the memorires through an animus, although i see no reason why they would want to.

but it would definately seem that they are in italy for both games, and obviously brotherhood.

Very interesting... I bet Desmond took off the Bracer as he wouldn't exactly look inconspicuous wearing it nowadays. Most likely he pulls his sleeve over it but in the hide out he shows it off.
