I have not flown online in almost 2 years. I want to get back into it. I a good fast connection with IL2 FB AEP installed. Just about to download Hyperlobby again but I know how things change alot and quick. Can I get some what-to-do here? So I don't get too screwed up. Thanks <S> Manteo

There are a few servers still running 2.04, but most are running PF merged 4.01m. Correct patch order in a sticky on the PF forum. PF with the patch is well worth it, but the new torque may take some getting used to before you jump online. Much different feel to the sim compared to AEP 2.04.

Not that many things have changed except that you'll need PF to access most of the servers.

As mentioned, probably about 99% of servers are running FB+AEP+PF merged 4.01m. The latest patch is almost like a new game.

Even if the Pacific isn't your thing, the additional aircraft are a huge bonus. Many types are useful for all theaters (such as the A-20G and the Corsairs).

Thanks Cajun, But I'm not sure what this means"Correct patch order in a sticky on the PF forum." I need to download the patch after another right? Thanks but can you clear that up a little?

Awsome, I love those PF planes. I just need to Down load it right? and then what, do I have to re-install IL2FB or it just installs itself?

pacific fighters (PF) is a game that u have to pay for, u can dload it but its easier to buy. You then MERGE INSTALL it with fb/aep to make one huge game. But it is worth it and u will need it to get good action online.

Thx Danjama, So, I can download it and merge-install if I want to right? Is that an option?
Any other patches I need? For HL? or what ever?
Right now my system is clean of HL stuff.

If you want to buy it online, make sure u download the Merged version of the download. You will see that option. And be aware that there will be a limit to how many times u can install it, but if u run out of key enters u can ring and get more. Once u install the game (merged) you will need more patches. I believe PF will bring u to 3.0, then get and install patch 3.01, 3.04 then 4.01. Soon we will also have a 4.02. More info here

PF can be a stand alone game, or you can merge it with FB+AEP.

Once thats done, and you have PF+FB+AEP, download 3.03m(100mb) and 4.01m. Make sure it has the "m" on the end of it lol. M is for the merged install. Non M is for the stand alone PF.

There's a Pacific Fighters forum up too, and it has this thread:

It dosen't matter which order you d/l them, but installing them correctly is the key. If you have install problems, they can be resolved at Community Help (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/49310655).

Personally, I like having the disk in hand when purchasing software. Then I have it, whether the company goes belly up, teh interweb goes down or the creek rises too much. However, your circumstances may mean that you want to d/l it, and thats perfectly fine too. Good luck, and

If you haven't picked up PF, either at the store or online, you only need to be patched up to IL2:FB+AEP 2.04 Older patches can be found at 3dgamers.com, search for AEP patches.

Your intension was to fly online, so picking up PF is almost a necessity. I'm sorry if you misunderstood and installed the PF patches. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif A reinstall and patch up to 2.04 should set you to rights. Technical help can be found on the Community Help forum for complex problems. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hey man dont get your shorts in a knot... it'll be ok... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gifjust go to your local Comp USA and get PF if you havent. In the meantime uninstall the whole shaebang and start from scratch. Install FB.. then AEP.... then patch 2.04. If you would rather wait until you get PF or once you get PF.. install PF over the FB+AEP install.... Make sure you tell the sim to install merged. After you do that when you boot up the sim it should say FB3.0... Once you get that far and you see that FB 3.0.. download and install patches 3.04m and 4.01m. Boot up the sim... in the lower left hand corner where it tells you the version number it should say FB 4.01m. Then get on HL and have fun. Hit the Sturmovik Essentials link in my sig too and bookmark it cause it will take a while to go through it. If you still have problems then come back here and we will get you through it.

As a final note.. when you do hit the Essentials link make sure you hit the "Why you should merge" link.

Sorry guys and thanks for the advice. I did have a tizzy but I am alright now,I un-kotted my shorts. My Il2 is still screwed-up and I will try to get it fixed. But shortly after my freekin- fit I found out that my wife is pregnant so my head is in the clouds! So thats how things are for now with me.<S> http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, congratulations! That is far more important than a game. I suspect it'll all still be here when you have time for it again.

Thanks for the congrats you guys but the wife has turned into something similar to what I saw in "Doom" Last nite although she was with me at the theater(good movie BTW). But I am understanding and I have patience. But back to topic:I have found time to d-load PF. And I must say after playing IL2(Europe) for so long that this is a breath of fresh air. It is awesome. The first thing I did was put myself in an F4U Coursair at Hickam Field with the Lexington out to sea. The Coursairs a little more squirly than Im used to on take-off, but I got a handle on it now. My practice exercise: Take-off from Hickam, land on Lex, T-off from Lex and back to Hickam. For the last couple hours. Got killed once, ate the end of the ship, came in too low. (Easier than MS Flight sim carriers, at least these have arresting cables.) This is cool. I love it. Bee-a-utiful. <S> http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Gotta put a couple zeros in there now.
