I'm only four years behind you. I wish Paris Hilton would appear in my dreams even if I'm only lecturing her. As it is I'm usually so tired these days I don't dream at all - spark out and snoring to keep the Mrs awake. 55 is a watershed of sorts. You can't fool yourself you are slightly the other side of 21 anymore. With horror, you realize you are only ten years from 65---this really hits you in the frontal lobes. As for dreams, I usually don't dream either, RedToo. Why I was visited by Ms Hilton whom I consider as sexy as a basketball, I leave to the experts. M and R, enjoy your slightly ripe youth while you have it!

"Crikey, do I really have to live that long?"

Ah, 'Crikey' an early nickname for the Whirly - based on popular Shell petrol adverts of the time. A popular saying around Somerset as early Whirlies raced overhead was "Crikey's up!" Am I on form tonight, or what? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

I'm beginning to understand the root of all aviation that is the Whirlybird. Funnily enough, the Whirlwind was the FIRST (1st) plastic model airplane I ever made around the age of 7-8 (back when parents though giving bostick to kids was acceptable - I think, lots of fuzziness here.

Low_Flyer_MkVb

Many thanks, all. I am consoled in my state of imminent entropy.

I got my first Airfix Whirlwind, their first essay on the type, in the summer of 1966. It was one of the few Airfix I never built. It was particularly ancient with no cockpit and minimalist detail. By the time the improved Airfix WW was released around '78, I was deep into a German binge, and was not moved to get get one. Wish somebody would do a state-of-the-art "Crikey" in 1:48---the Classic Airframes ones have too many "issues" (but they look good).

Oh, I wish I was 55 agian. However, at 63 I certainly don't dream of "lecturing" young women--at least not yet.

Happy birthday and many happy sorties to come.

`twiggy` boy look?

I just like `em earthy and voluptuous. Ok, so Rubens can be a little on the fat side if that`s what you mean and I do things slightly differently, but still way better than some artist`s female depictions I`ve seen, ie, men with saucer bowls for boobs.

Good thing you`re old or I`d have to start getting all preraphaelite on you! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

That's what all that bracing salty air does to ye. Life's a bouncy castle when you live by the sea.

When I lived by the University in Santa Barbara, California, the beaches were so full of chebbs, funbags, and pulcritude, single males usually committed seppuku after having a look. Males fortified by a heavy night with their girlfriends were still known to go stark, raving mad, and run up and down the bluffs over the beach screaming: "Jimmy Dean is alive! Jimmy Dean is alive!" One night I and another female-bereft male were taking a walk along the bluffs by the sea for some bracing salt air. Isla Vista was having the usual Saturday night Roman orgy, and we needed peace and quiet to clear our sex-starved brains. Suddenly, I noticed the field to our left appeared to be alive. There was a strange undulating movement everywhere in the black night. I was blown away. "What the?" We realized we had walked into the middle of a gigantic minefield---a passion pit---the worst thing which could have happened. Fate is cruel.

How about being my Observer as we fly our Fairey Battle against the advancing German Army over France in May 1940...in a suicidal daylight mission..

But we survive and take our pick of the French women who adore our modest gallantry...

(Script for a great documentary methinks..)

The B5N2 and TBD for CFS2 or 3, R?

The Kate is a CFS-3. The TBDin the picture is a CFS-2.

This is the CFS3 version
http://home.nc.rr.com/reisen52/tbd1.jpg

The Kate is now being repainted & updated to Version 4.00.163 the latest flight package from AvHistory. They are for the PTO stand-a-lone that is being updated today along with the MAW 1.30 patch which was also released today.

AvHistory's initial PTO release will be a series of US, Commonwealth, IJA & IJN aircraft for the 1942 Guadelcanel battle.
