The virtual RAAF SQN in Australia would to thank greatly Oleg and the development team at Maddox games.

IL2 FB as a WW2 combat flight simulator is simply the best. Almost all of our Squadron has moved over from CFS2 to IL2FB. The modeling and flight characteristics are second to none. A reflection of a man with a vision and excellent crew who have helped achieve this vision and undoubtedly will do a sterling job on whatever the future may hold for this game.

Our squadron is looking forward to the pacific campaign pack and fighters and bombers from that theater, American, British and Japanese. Are Maddox games considering developing some of the Australian built planes - CAC Boomerang, Wirraway etc?

Given the success of CFS2 which focused on the Pacific Theater is there any chance of an extensive range of campaign maps being developed for this theater either by Maddox Games and/or Flight One?? Particularly New Guinea, Solomon Islands etc? I think Australia makes up a lot of the numbers in the on-line gaming community by world statistics, particularly combat flight sims.

Indeed many of the historical missions flown by the RAAF in the New Guinea in the Defence of Australia are also "Forgotten Battles ". As stated in the war diaries and letters of J.F. Jackson squadron leader of the 75th Squadron - We had "a lot to fight for"
with the Japanese at our doorstep.

Again thank you from the virtual RAAF SQN for raising the bar of WW2 flight simulators. We love the P40s and get many hours of enjoyment and historical immersion from IL2FB.

Yours Sincerely

Can you believe that my old CFS1 (YES 1!!) squad wouldn't convert to Il-2? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Really!! so, I quit that squad, was a free-lance for some time and after that, I joined a dedicated Il-2 squad!

shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

From what I can gather so far,
Oleg has or is creating a Pacific Map for the Zero, see development shots of the Zero at IL-2FB Home Page.
Note the Palm trees and atoll in the back ground of one of the Zero screen shots.

We here have recreated the Area you speak of using existing FB Maps although we are waiting to see the Pacific Map Oleg has created.
We are also waiting on the release of the Zero into FB before releasing our Missions for down load Online.
Although we already have a sample mission available at our down loads page.

Artic,

Many thanks for your post. It always makes me feel great to see other WW2 combat flight sim people out there who also appreciate the historical bent, moreover when it is in the SW Pacific theater and from an Aussies perspective the New Guinea area.

The stuff you guys are doing with empire of the sun looks awesome and greatly look forward to when it is available in conjunction with release of Zero from Maddox etc.

Again I can assure you myself and the lads in the RAAF virtual SQN are looking forward to this.I am sure some of the USA and Japanese based SQNs likewise.

In simple terms your "ledgends"

Cheers
