Does anyone fly with music on in the cockpit, and if so, what do you like to listen to?

I like Front 242, Metallica, STP, Alice in Chains, and generally anything heavy usually.

Just wondering.

I play ingame music files of WW2 music, I'm old enough to enjoy it, and it sounds 'right'.

I play the 'chatter packs', which are compilations of various sims voice chatter. The speech (amongst other ambience) in the background really adds another level of immersion for me.

Rxman, I'm 18 and I love that old stuff.

I usually listen to rock and stuff, but sometimes abit of Glenn Miller, Flannagan & Allen or Louis Armtrong is just right to listen too. Especailly when flying a WW2 sim. what I normally do though, is Play it through WMP and pause it before I fly, and just have it in the Menu's.

I haven't played music while in game yet.
But, thanks to this thread, I will try:
The Cure - Wild mood swings
Iggy Pop - Lust For Life
Ry Cooder - Bop Till You Drop
Nine Below Zero - Got My Mojo Working
Phil Collins - Something Happened On The Way To Heaven

And if it get's really hard, this one, on repeat:
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

i must add that i dont play music that often really, couse when i fly Il2 i mostly fly with my squad, so if i play music it can be hard to hear them on TS http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

and i to find bad for the immersion, and i cant really concentrate when i have music playing in my ears, so if i play i play it when i fly quick missions etc

To this day...Janes WWII fighters had and has the best music imho...if I could just duplicate it I'd be a very happy person....

By the way in case you haven't thought of it much...music provokes a purely emotional response from people on a very basic level. The emotions can range from happy to sad...angry to meloncolly to excitement to shivers and goosebumps....music is a great way to add immersion to anything you are doing but especially flight simming to add to the experience.

If anyone knows how to dup the Janes music into FB, let me know where I can get the files as I'd love to do that....that music just made it feel like 1944!

Bull_Dog, you've hit the spot!
That's about what I meant to say by refering to 'The Cure - Wild mood swings' .. (it's not just an album title... )

Sorry, only thing I've got on 'Jane's' it the 'Fighting aircraft or World War II'

I have been known to crash many times. This has not been due to damage suffered from enemy airplanes, but rather because of me falling asleep due to Pink Floyd playing in my headphones. "The Great Gig in the Sky" has been known to be a particularly efficient killer.

Music, I never thought of it. Sometimes the constant engine sound can put me in a relaxed state that I begin to just fall asleep.

I don't ordinarily listen to a lot of heavy music, but in the sim, it makes things a little more fun when I get whacked. Swing, jazz/dixieland/be-bop is cool too...I prefer jazz, blues, and a bouillabaisse of other genres in real life.

I like to play "Die Walkerie" when in a Stuka flight. It pumps me up until I get shot down.

I too use the chatter packs, they seem to add another layer of realizm to the game.
I've searched the web up and down looking for good music packs. In my journeys this is what I've found.

The largest selection.

Some very unique files.
