I remember there was some way to modify the conf.ini ( or something else?) so that one could use a "shortened" custom command, instead of the whole string.
For example, one could just type "FPS", and it would work like "fps START SHOW LOG 5", if he customised it.

Anyone cares to remind me?

You're looking at alias commands.

IL2 self executes commands contained in the rcu file in the base game directory. Open that with notepad and you'll see commands, all prefaced with @ (for some reason only @-lines are executed in the rcu).

Add a line at the bottom "@a fp (or whatever you want to call it) fps SHOW START"

Now you just type fp at the command line to start the counter.
