View Full Version : A couple of good addons for SH3

Obviously EVERYONE is pretty much agreed on the fact that this game needs (milkcows, allied/axis/neutral shiping traffic in their respected port harbors, improved BdU comms, wolfpacks, ability to zoom in on some guages for easier readings, ect... ect...) Some extra features that I thought about, was having an officer's club that you could visit while in either a friendly or neutral port to hear about the latest gossip and to allow your crew to rest and relax. Perhaps the DEVS could add a female singer up on a stage in the background singing a song in front several tables filled with drunk and rowdy sailors. Another thing I would like to see is NAV lights on all ships that are in ports or close to land masses. Even in the movie Das Boot, the ships at the strait of Gilbraltar patrolled with their NAV lights on do to the low visibility and being confined to such a narrow area between two land masses with several other ships operating in the area as to avoid colliding with each other. It might have been risky for them to do this but it would have been riskier not to do it because the chances of them being sunk by a U-boat were slim to none compared to collisions with other ships. Out in the middle of the sea ships can sail with NAV lights off but near land or other ships or in bad weather NAV lights should be on. Also, I would like to be able to have even more options as the CO of my sub. I think we should be able to courts martial particular crew members that refuse to obey orders. There should be a courts martial box that we could click and drag that/those crew member(s) to that identify them as men facing a courts martial when the sub returns to home port. When the current mission is over and we've returned to home port, that crew member/or those crew members still remaining in that box will trigger a screen that states that they have been courts martialed and they won't be on the sub ever again. However, if we want to show mercy and release them from that box prior to returning to home port and ending the current mission the crew member(s) won't be courts martialed and they will remain with the crew. I just think that would be a cool feature even though it might seem a bit insignificant. But we all know that these little things add to the realism factor and make the sim even more outstanding than it already is. What about giving crewmen who perform above and beyond the call of duty a free pass to the red light district?

I would be most happy with re-supply at sea as was promised along with some nice two way radio talk! And of course fixing bugs!!!!!

I doubt stripteases would be allowed, (this ain't no GTA San Andreas), but in the beginning of the Das Boot movie there was a woman singing on the stage at a club were crews usually celebrated before departing out to sea or when they had returned home from sea. I like my courts martial idea also. I think it would give players a feeling of empowerment to be able to punish them or to give them liberty passes as well as the already in-game awards system.
