There were two planes I was looking forward to flying in this game. One was a Stuka, the other was an Me-110. I am dissappointed to see that the Me-110 is flyable only by an AI pilot. I hope that the next release of IL-2 includes an Me-110 as a flyable aircraft.

I love the features of the IL-2FB game. I find it more difficult to shoot enemy planes down in the IL-2 game.

Is there anyone else that wants to fly an Me-110?

the Me -110 or as fb calls it the bf-110 is a gorgeous bird. look for it to be flyable in the upcoming pay add on. plenty of flyable aircraft are going to be in it. there is a list in one of these threads of all the flyable aircraft, but its buried in here. maybe you can search for it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am glad to hear that work is being done. Thanks for the update. I hope to see it released soon. Will it be part of another stand alone game or will it be an add on?

Well, actually there will be two add-ons. One,due in October, will be free. The pay for add-on will likely be released in December. That'll probably have the 110.

Here are some pics of the Bf-110 cockpit:

Thank you for sharing those pictures. I looked at my picture book given to me by Ron MacKay, he is the author of a book printed by squadron/signal publications. The book is titled "Walk Around" Messerschmiitt Bf 110G, book number 24.

On page 13 I see a few cockpit photos and I am pleased to see that you have represented the 110 cockpit very closely.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I met Ron at the Dayton museum while photographing the JU-88.

Please check out my website for great photos of German aircraft from museums across America. The page is entitled "Luftwaffe Across the Country"

Concerning the two other crew positions. There is a Radio/Radar Operator as well as the rear gunner. Will you include capabilities for the radar and radio operation?

The rear defensive gun can be several configurations depending on the year of manufacture.

You can have the MG81Z Zwilling (twin) machinegun which is a twin barrelled gun. The MG81 replaced the MG-15 which was used on early production models. Please dont use the MG-15.

The other cool configuration of rear weaponry is the "schrage musik", which is two 20mm MGFF cannons, they aim upward and were fired beneath bombers to shoot them down as the plane dived away.

Could you include both of these configurations for the rear gunner depending on the model of aircraft chosen?

Thanks for the compliment ZG77!

I am a WWII re-enactor. Check out the D-Day event photos. This was filmed by the BBC and the History Channel for next years D-Day special, the 60th Anniversary.

I love the IL-2 games for their authenticity. I'm glad to have bought it. It would have been appreciated to have been warned about the REAL minimum requirements for game play. This game kicked my systems *** real good.

Hehe,I'm afraid I'm not doing the cockpit,Avirex is. And yes, I BELIEVE he's doing a radio/radar position as well,but I'm not sure./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

but if there is a radio/ radar position would they have to mod the plane model and add radar antenna's on it

It would follow that the antanaes would be included in the design. Operating the radar would be interesting. But who is still alive to talk to about how it operated? You can't find any working models of the radar system today. There are no operations manuals in circulation. If a radar impression will be made, the operation of it will need to be invented also. That task may prevent anything more than the look and feel of the station from being done.

I don't know, but I wouldn't think it'd be very difficult to modify the existing model. Avirex occasionally posts here,so he may be able to enlighten you more.
