Well , this is the first time I ask something to Oleg.I will like an answer on this question , if possible.
Rumours says that after the add-on will be released next year , the support will kinda cease for IL2/IL2FB. I want to make sure I ask this before this happens. Is about the FMB.Here's my question:
What takes to implement triggers in the missions and a programaticaly chaining missions?Kind of a scripted chaining.Example , you do 5 missions and they can be played this order 1-2-3-4-5 or 1-2-4-3-5 depending on missions outcome.I noticed that triggers do exist but in "closed" manner. Example : 50% destroy will trigger something. I will like if possible a broader range of such triggers. Is possible also to include random events in a mission?
I am asking this because the FMB had very little attention from ppl , a good FMB could make this sim last for many years (see jane's etc).
Hope I'm not a pain in the arse with those question. A short answer will be more than enough. Thank you for your time.

Complicated? Hehehehe. My wife is able to build a mission including som events. But is not that the meaning. FMB should be easy to use. All you need is patience. So ,do we get an nsweer to my queesions?

With no bad intentions, FMB complicated? You should try Blitzkrieg's mission editor!
To Zayets: Triggers you mentioned would change FMB to a very crude and simple "dynamic" campaign generator. Personally, I never liked to know where the enemy is.

Did you read my post? FMB in IL2 is one of the simplest mission editors I've seen. One will build a mission in "3 clicks of a mouse"

Again, did you understood what I've meant? You can build 2000 missions in the IL2 FMB and every time , EVERY TIME , you WILL KNOW where the enemy is. That's the bad part.Is for that I've asked for random elements. Dynamic campaign how is done now it sucks , is for that I've been thinking to a combination of random elements in a mission with random/programmed mission chaining. Is that simple!

yes, triggers and events...

I asked Oleg some time after IL-2 came out, if there was any
possibilty that triggers and events could be added (example like in ms combat FS2)...

The answer then was nope, won´t happen http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It would REALLY make a better game...

I don't buy it. There are already triggers in IL2 , all we need is a broader range of them , control over the events (ex. over the recon zone what will happen). And random elements in the mission. That was my plea. That was my morning bump.Hope to get an answer.

Nearmiss asked about this in the past. I think the answer was that there would be no triggers for dynamic mission elements in this sim, but a search on nearmiss' user name may bring up something more concrete.

No Tully,
He never got an answer of why or how. What's the point of the FMB without triggers? What's the point of loading a map , put some objects on it and let them fight to death? Even worst flight sims have such features, why not in FB?Is too much to ask?

First of all , big thank you Oleg to take the time to answer my question. I will close this but I want to know the reasons: is too hard to implement them? Is taking long time? What is the reason. you agree that a mission editor without triggers is like the food without salt, pepper and other spices.Thank you.

Hi Zayets,

I think our only hope to get "scripting" done in the FMB is via text file adjustment along the lines of UQMB and DGen. It is possible that one day someone will come up with a way of dynamically editing missions in memory as they're played out. But for the moment I think the only thing you could really do is wait for someone to write a program that will randomise positions and start times and destroy/escort waypoints before the mission is loaded.

We simply busy with many other things for FB and special triggers, that also will work in online missions/campaign will be in the next sim.
Currently that will take too much time to make it working as single-online code compatible. We have one code for both these modes.

Yes,I've been thinking on that.Problem is that a daemon should run in the background picking up all these outcomes. The campaing generator (the one doing flat campaigns) is pretty good.since you don't know where the things are located.
