Just a bit of extra interest until the patch is released !!!

Was reading today some trivia on the Dam Busters raid. Gibson's dog, the name of which can't be mentioned for political reasons, was killed shortly before the raid.
Shortly after the film was made, some sharp eyed spark noticed a black dog running around in the trees behind Richard Todd when he is speaking to Barnes Wallis at the end of the film. Apparently nobody remembers this dog during filming and it's presence has not been explained especially as there were no dogs at Scampton at the time.
I had to have a look for myself and yes there it is running around behind Todd/Gibson's head in the background. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Lemme see: After two weeks the patch comes out, my VHS copy of Dam Busters has ceased to exist due worn out because of back-and-forth rolling, my wife is divorcing and I will make people online mad by asking continuously if someone has seen the dog, the name of which can't be mentioned for political reasons, after the Patch http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

It's not that clear, but it's definately black and dog like and running around in the grass like a dog would if it was after rabbits or something. I'd do a video capture for you but, unfortunatley I don't have the software !

I will ask my workmate tony about the dog as he was in the R.A.F. and based up in Lincolnshire (still lives there in Lincoln!). I am sure that the story of the dog is in one of the `Action Stations` series of WW2 true ghost books. Tony may know someone who has seen it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Hi Guys!

Just to let you know that I asked Tony today about the `Ghost Dog` and he told me that he was based for a number of years at the old dam busters base near Lincoln. He also told me that of the years he spent there, he never saw or heard about the dog. BTW, he was ground crew so you would of thought he would of seen it if it was true!

Sorry to kill the story off guys! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

The spectral mutt in question has been spotted in continental Europe urinating on a hydro-electric project...

I don`t think it`s politically incorrect to name the dog `Niger`.I mean that was his name and if anyone`s got a problem with it do one simple thing.Get a life!

I believe it is and it is NOT a politically incorrect name. Try looking at the context, this is 60 odd years ago. The thought wouldn't have even crossed Gibson's mind.

i dont think their was any malice in the name of the dog, back then a white guy could say the n word and not be racist.
