I want to see the notoriety system re-vamped. I thought it was a cool idea at the beginning of AC2 when it was introduced, but as the game went on I realized how stupid it was. You can go from completely incognito to notorious where you are immediately exposed if a guard looks at you for 2 seconds just by killing one person Or you can go from Notorious to completely incognito by ripping down one poster.

In AC:R they should have levels of notoriety... let's say 10. As the game progresses your minimum notoriety level increases. I think this would make the game feel much more realistic AND make it harder. what do you guys think?

The forums started talking about a revamp about 9 months before Brotherhood came out, and it wasn't implemented. Let's hope they kept that in mind and have tried to change it for Revelations.

Personally haven't thought about the level idea, but I like it. Makes sense, the higher the level the more guards are "aware" (remember AC1?) and the faster they go from being suspicious of you to investigating you to fighting you. Nice idea.

Posters of course need to be in sensible places as well... just throwing it out there.
(In my opinion if it ever gets to the stage where you're level 10 notoriety the guards should be able to see you almost instantaniously. Think the "aware" guards again from AC1)

Exactly. It would be just like AC1 except you would be more aware of your notoriety like in AC2 and AC:B

I agree with the different levels. Also if the posters were in a more sensible area I feel t hat the people should be looking at them. Greed is a powerful thing thus say an innocent could try pointing out Ezio to a guard which would mean one of two things. A. Ezio must kill the individual. OR B. Ezio has to run like hell. Also if there were posters about people could be looking at them thus harder to rip them down. If you rip them down that could increase your noteriety and result in someone running to tell a guard.

i dont know about 10 levels.

perhaps 4-5 or so (ill take some inspiration from the MP bonuses)
1: Incognito - No one knows or cares who you are.
2: Silent - Guards are more likely to take notice of suspicious behavior.
3: Discreet - Guards will take a big notice to disturbances and react a bit quicker. (this would be when they start throwing rocks if they see you climbing buildings and such)
4: Known (Hands on sword) - Guards will react a lot quicker to suspicious activity
5: Notorious (swords are out): guards will attack on sight

There should 2 notoriety bars:

Guard Bar: When you are on a battle and guards runs away you gain notoriety (5% per guard)... How to discreanse it? Changing armor and color... color = 25% less and each armor piece 5% less... Per 25% it would change stage like oathkeeper said without the incognito one (guards will never don't care about you at all, they are like policemen...)

Population Bar: When there is a random side quest and you are "near" it and you don't help you would win 10%... If you have more than 50% notoriety and you kill guards in front of the population you got 5% per guard killed... you would lose notoriety (10%) per each side mission you do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif... how would notoriety work for population bar? 25% Citzens throw you stones when scaling, 50% Citzens start knocking you if you go near them, 75% Citzens would run to you to knock you, 100% Citzens would call guards if they see you... Oh and you would get 25% notoriety per citzen killed ;P

The idea is to make it more releastic incentivating stealthy ways....
