In a response in another thread I stated that I could land a P-39 on a carrier. I figured I should Back it up with a track. So here it is.

http://s43.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2BZ5HYG9RAIQA353V6AL1EABNO

I think it would be cool if people tried landing thier fav ride on carriers and posted too. Settings for me were full switch less speedbar, stationary carrier, 25% fuel.

Should have some entertaining tracks.

Cheers

i find the P-80 eaiser to land than either the He-162 or the Me-262

hardest plane to safely land on a carrier = Go-229

its real hard to stop

Sounds like a challenge to me.

I'll give it a shot.

I once saw a dude land a Corsair inverted on a carrier... it was sweet.
I have no idea if it was intentional.

On the TV show "JAG" they landed a C-130 on a carrier. To prove that it wasn't BS at the end of the show they showed actual footage of the landing.

I'm in the middle of making a Korean war mini campaign were you fly the P80 representing a Panther of a carrier. It's realy very easy because you can brake as hard as you like due to the tricycle gear.

I'm not surprised the P-39 can land on a carrier. It can fly slower than a Hellcat in 4.02. I'd love to see the super secret soviet documentation that shows that ability.

My squad's carrier qualification requires you to land either an IL-2 or P-39 onto a moving deck five times in succession in one mission without damaging the aircraft - and for extra credit, you have to land either an A-20 or a Beaufighter three times in succession.

It's a bit tricky, and fun once you get the hang of it.

I've been known to land Megile's mom on a carrier, without a hook... just barely.

Take off with A6M2-21 100% fuel and 250kg bomb on rack from Japanese generic stationery carrier.
That is oposite of hard landing.

Our carrier qualification requires you to not run into the plane in front. If you manage that you've got your ticket. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
