i was over at the natural point boards earlier to day .........ther main man jim richardson, stated that there is soon to be a new gen tir i asked if it was compatible with what we have or is stand alone he replied info to be released in a week or 2 here are the statements.....jim richardson wrote..Sorry for the very late reply, we have been busy working on the next generation of trackIR system; do get your hopes up!............i wrote.Jim Richardson .....sir can ya give us a little hint on next gen tir? will it be stand alone or will it work with what we have .ya cant just leave us hanging can ya .........jim richarson wrote.. Maybe they'll increase the refresh rate so it doesn't stutter as much while panning.

Hopefully the software will track more than one point and thus be able to track back and forth movement in addition to rotation.

How could they improve it? It works so well as it is. This should be interesting.

If the software tracked 3 dots it could measure not only back/forth movement (changes in dot distance) but also tilting the head (changes in the triangles aspect ratio).

Now think about that for a second - simply tilting up would lift the view, but raising your head 2cm would let you see over The Bar, or under the sight in VVS birds.. ;-)

Too bad IL-2 does not support this, and too bad it's probably hard to implement (very error prone with the limited resolution).

The new one doesn't need any dots. It will track your nose.
