I cant seem to get any crosshairs to display with this **** jet! In the track that comes prerecorded with the game, it clearly has crosshairs for the site but when I fly it there are no sites at all actually in the cockpit. How do I get the sites up?

I read your review of PF. You make no mention of the system your were running when you scored the graphics an 8. And only mention the single player campaigns. No mention of its mergability with the previous sims to give you over over a hundred flyable aircraft, and no mention of online play either.

If I wasn't already involved with the sim, I wouldn't think much of the game according to your review.

And the game comes with a manual that tells you such things as shift+F1. Most games do.

This is classic. Not only was that review not that good, but "DaGameBoyz" didn't even write it. They plagurized it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

You have the gall to say you wrote that? Give me a break!

Unless "Sammy B" (cited as author at 'DaGameBoyz') and "Dererk Forrester" (cited as author at 'ViaGamersArena') are one and the same, that is indeed some very obvious plagiarism.

You're doing fine, FlakMagnent. These guys don't know what they're talking about.

"Shift F1" Pfffttt!

Your first impression is correct, "Stupid jet, it broken." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Yes, the similarities between the two reviews is uncanny. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The opening paragraph from the DaGameBoyz site (http://www.dagameboyz.net/g/review_924_p1.html), authored by Sammy B:

"It only takes a glance at any list of games proposed for release on the PC in the upcoming months to realize that the platform continues to go from strength to strength, but one category of games that has suffered from a lack of attention in recent years is that of the flight simulation. Ranking among the most popular gaming pursuits on the desktop box back in the day, the realm of realistic aerial combat has become akin to a barren void of late, with Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator series and 1C Company€s IL-2 property being the only real heavyweights with a continuing interest. Released last month, Pacific Fighters hails from the latter franchise, and as you've no doubt discerned from its name, it seeks to reproduce the bitterly contested air war over the Pacific basin."

Compare this to the opening paragraph of Derek Forrester's review (http://www.viavga.com/default.asp?PageID=30&Review=22):
"It only takes a glance at any list of games proposed for release on the PC in the upcoming months to realize that the platform continues to go from strength to strength, but one category of the format that has suffered from a lack of attention in recent years is the flight simulation. Released last month, Pacific Fighters hails from the latter franchise, and as you've no doubt discerned from its name, it seeks to reproduce the bitterly contested air war over the Pacific basin. "

Sammy B's review skips Forrester's 2nd and 3rd paragraphs but then directly rips off the next seven following. Space must have been too limited for DaGameBoyz to copy the full article, because Sammy B. simply axes Forrester's last six paragraphs and finalizes with his own conclusion:

Forrester: While it€s possibly the least accomplished in the IL-2 line to date, Pacific Fighters is, for the most part, a competent and enjoyable flight simulator in its own right. There's little to rival it in the online realm in terms of popularity and authenticity, while the various available single player pilot careers should keep the offline enthusiast occupied for a good few weeks. At any rate, if 1C Company's past record is anything to go by, it is reasonable to expect that there will be staunch post release support to address many of the community's concerns, and the community itself will no doubt produce many custom missions and campaigns to further increase the game's longevity.

Sammy B.: Over all, I really like the game. Although, some planes you would expect to be included are missing, Oleg has promised the planes in an upcoming add-on patch. The patch should be out by the time you read this and it also works on the dynamic campaign structoring of the game. The planes being added are going to be the torpedo bombers that are missing from the original retail release. The game really needs some work done but Olegs previous games were supported really well and we can only expect the best from him. I have to give this game a lesser score than I really want to but some things just can€t be over looked.

Sorry for the mistake everyone. That review WAS more or less copied from that site. I see what Happend now. I always use a few sites reviews to compare with mine and posted the wrong review on the site. I take full resposability if this has cause any problems. This was an honest mistake and a new review will be posted momentarily. I have to send my reviews to someone else to post on the site as I have no knowledge on posting on the site. Once again sorry for the inconvienece

Just out of my own curiosity: How did you aim on other German planes? (Because on most of them you also cannot see crosshair until you press shift-F1) You didn't make a small dot with water resistable marker on your monitor, did you? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
