I am satisfied when I know for sure they will not be able to come back and shoot me after I disengage. That is if I was in a turn fight.

If I am Zoom n Booming, I will disengage after the first few hits and keep an eye on them. I know I have superior energy and I am not threatened by them.

Black smoke and make sure they've gone totally defensive. Usually.

Let the rest of the crowd finish them off if they want the points so bad.

Are you talking Unlimited Ammo? If so, no comment.

But if limited ammo it depends. I`ve often broken off a plane that`s lost it`s controls (on the net) or is smoking badly looking like it`s about to catch fire- Usually I`ll break off when we are outnumbered and we`re needed to constantly cover eachother- and when ammo is limited.

If plenty of ammo and no danger I will keep firing till he usually catches fire or a wing breaks off (especially if around kill-stealers).

On some DF servers it`s important to finish them off completely because of the nooby `no fear of death facter`. You set em badly smoking, even on fire and they STILL continue to fight or attack you. So no mercy for those ones /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I NEVER continue once they bail, but I`ve seen some continue to attack an empty plane.

I am most satisfied when I make them think they had a chance. As far as shooting them, I will shoot any high percentage shot. Often, I blow their wing off and then about a half second leter blow them up as well.

In the campaign I dont stop shooting untill they bail, lose a wing, hit the groung or explode. Otherwise an AI team mate will put a few small calibre rounds into them before they hit the deck and grab my kill.

I dont know how many times I have shot up an enemy to a flame out and the ai finishes the job even though the job was finished!

To be honest I'm not satisfied until I get the "enemy aircraft destroyed" message and I land w/ points secured. I know I shouldn't be hung up on points and I'm tiring to be more Zen about it but I'd be lying if I said otherwise.

Too me a satisfying kill comes after 10/15 minuts of hard dogfighting with non turning ac such as fwa9 or Dora v another fwa9/dora these are alwayes the best df imo last the longest are the most satisfying and fun and the FW's are very hard to bring down!!!

Another realy great fealing of satisfaction is when your Sqd mate is in trouble and you come racing down from the heavans and light the bandit up normaly he never knows your there because of target fixation.... Its a great fealing saving your wingies hide.

Looks like tho you more asking about when do I stop pulling the trigger on a bandit......

Id say when hes no longer a threat...

It all depends on the situation @ hand.

When possible I enjoy wathing the foe ditch and make the
"pilots monument" and also see him do the funny running thing thats ends with knocking him self out against a rock.
or just make a mock attack against his parachute and then leave to let him wet his suite in private.
Weeell..... if he just killed a friendly mercilessly I'll give him hot metall medalions to wear in HeLL!!

But normally I really do like the fact that it was a"live" and not a "kill".( I think I'll start counting "lives" instead)
- - - - - - - - -

Example:

U just shot the fin and rudder off from an enemyplane.
What is more fun, just to shoot him down or to let him go and later wath the track to see what happened?

Well the first is common the second is rare!I'd choose 2,
even if he might be shot down by a vulcher.

But if there is many vulnerable friendlies close by I try to make sure he is out. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

my favorite sight is looking back after a pass and seeing that canopy pop off. that plane ain't landing without a pilot - score one kill.
its also nice to save someone's butt --- shooting down that bandit on their tail. you know the bandit A. didn't see you coming and B. he REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted a kill of his own...and didn't get it. poor baby.....

I like it when they're smoking. Hit them while Boomin' & Zoomin', leave them smoking and leaving a trail, then go to the next guy.

That lovely tell-tale trail lets you keep them in sight real easy while you work on No.2, who you kill outright while slow and smoky No.1 tries to play catch up.

Then of course you go back and put the whack on No.1.

If Im flying a MG-151 bf-109 when I see flame, or if after a long burst, a control surface comes off. If its a Mk-108, when I hear the explosion. You know he is going down. Its cool when a wing comes off too.

I'm satisfied once they are crippled. No engine, no controls or just shot up to the point where they can't fight is good enough for me in a dogfight server. In VOW where if the enemy makes it to a base you will not get a kill I tend to be a little more aggressive. In VOW I don't stop attacking until I am absolutly sure they can't land at one of their bases. But I don't normally fight fighters in VOW so I guess that point is moot. I normally go after bombers or fly the bombers. When shooting down bombers I shoot till they bail, explode or a wing breaks off. Of course that doesn't take long in an MK108 equiped Fw 190A8 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif .

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.

I am satisfied only with the total destruction of an enemy plane. I will continue to fire my 190D9 ammo into any plane untill the pilot is killed, wings fall of or it explodes. Pilots with dead engines are still a threat since that pilot could land and fly another day. Nothing satisfies like the death and destruction of your enemies.

When its a well earned kill, on single player I was in my Lagg3 against 2 me-109's, I flew under a bridge trying to get away from them and they turned away, I turned with them shot down one almost instant. Then I had a crazy dog fight with the other one, he some how made it home with a huge amount of damage, his plane was smoking, a wing was really messed up, his engine had huge holes in it along with all his plane. I had a 15mm hole in my wing.

I like when there's fire. Or at least lots of smoke /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I don't really like when the wing or something else just breaks apart.

Also I get any kill I manage with a Fw190D-9. I can't shoot much in it.

Last when I'm frustrated at not killing much online (Fw190D-9) I hop in a late Bf109 and select two extra Mk108 gunpods... hehehe

Best feeling for me is the anticipation, i.e. your very sure your gonna get the kill it's only a matter of time cause of a mistake made by the other guy, he's lost height energy advantage, Unfortunately not a nice position to be in when the tables turned lol.

Anyone any idea when this godd***ed patch is coming!!

XyZspineZyX

Sometimes I get the odd moment when I `know` I`ve won, even when he`s not been hit yet. Often it`s on the first head on attack. He`ll come at me, I`ll turn (I always avoid head-ons. Let them waste ammo), he`ll dive down, but doesn`t pull up or use any `E` he had. Then I know he`s had it.

There are many other examples where you know by a simple ove or mistake that you have him.

Then there`s the situation where you think, `Uh-oh. This guy knows his stuff` and you in a real fight.

It`s like the old two Samurai Warriors staring eachother out on a bridge. And after a bit of eyeballing one will just leave cos he knows he`s lost! Doesn`t happen often (cos one on one is rare) but good when it does.

Hope I made sense. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
