Remember in Assassins Creed 2 when Desmond is visiting Altair's memories without the animus? Later it stays with Maria after she got impregnated.

Do you think they are foreshadowing that his kid is important?

It'd be cool to play as altair's son and have Altair as a teacher.

No, they are showing that that particular child is Demond's ancestor. It's a kind of closure for us I suppose.

i think it's more to show that there is at some point a union between assassin and templar

Id love to see this being done. Having Altair as "your Al Mualim" for this game, preparing his sons to take on Ghenghis Khan and recover The Sword. Yeah, that would make a great game... If applied correctly of course
