Is it just me, or does the balck out come on a bit fast? Also, I noticed in BoB that if you blacked out, you could just push the stick forward and it would go away, (OR stright to red if you stay too long.) Is that real, or just in BoB?

I'd say the blackout is pretty forgiving in this game. The onset of gradual blackout occurs only above about 6G (looking at p47 accelerometer) and only progresses quickly above 7G or more.

Also, the blackout is always gradual, as opposed to the instant blackouts you get in some other sims. You can hammer up to 10-12G for short periods without blacking out completely (like in ME-262). For no G suit, thats pretty good.

Redout is very forgiving too. Even at -4G, you can still see fine. Only after very long periods of neg G does the pilot red out completely.
