Mmmmm....X1300 won't likely be a good BoB card...just guessing as we don't have any idea when BoB is coming or what the requirements will be. The X1300 is a so-so gaming card...its a great addin card for a media center PC or something like that but not really a 3D gaming card. You'll want a X1600 or a 7600GT or something like that.

The price is outrageous as well. $200 for a X1300? Its probably an ATI branded board...they are always more expensive. Try Sapphire or Powercolor which are manufacturers for the different cards. In Canadian dollars I can get a X1600XT for about $230 before tax.

Can you get out of buying it? Try and tell them you dont want it anymore for some reason.

It is slower than a X700, 6600GT and even a 6600 all last generation cards which you can get for around $120 now.

Tell them you need a refund and get a better card.

Check card benchmarks against other cards before buying next time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

4 Pixel pipelines, spend the extra and get a x1600, x800 if you have to have ATI. NVidea 6600 or 6800 would be a wiser choice. Do you have PCI-E or AGP? I have an old AGP motherboard, does pretty good with the old 9600XT. It was used and now is even more used and abused. It only has 4 pixel pipelines also. Spend the extra, get the decent card.

My Asus Platinum X850 works extremely well. Don't listen to all the Nvidia fans out there. There is nothing wrong with ATI. Both companies make good new products and both of them have old stuff that doesn't do so well.

I just found the X1600 or X800 for the same price as a X1300.
But, the X1300 has lots of fans it looks like. Install it and you will see a large increase from the old one. Enjoy it!

HI Hitcher, noone is saying ATI are worse than Nvidia, they arent. Both companies make great cards which are very fast. But each company also makes budget cards which are not really for gamers. The X1300 is one of these.

Yep...the closest comparison to the X1300 is the GeForce 7300GS. Both are very close to being identical in terms of game benchmarks...the X1300 pulls ahead in terms of video support (AVIVO) but its still close.

Dont even bother upgrading, save up a little longer and buy a better system....you will be pleased you did.....go for a 7800GS.

A good decent spec system would be a 3500 AMD, a 7800GT (or AGP GS try to go PCI-E though) and a gig of Ram.

BOB will need a mosnter system to run, our top end systems now will be low end by the time it comes out....so If you want to build a PC for BOB, save up until its out (somewhere between 1 to 2 years) and buy a really really good top spec pc.
