Does she complain when you ignore her while you're sending Allied pilots to a comfy stay at the local Stalag-Luft?
Is she happy?
Lets hear it!

Good to get a fresh results, but for hilarious posts on this subject, it is mandatory to read the old Aviation and your significant other (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/4131024633?r=4131024633#4131024633) thread as well http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Poor widows of IL-2....

Not married, but females who know me have long endured my predilection for manual or computer simulators---considered to be preferable to my cultivating an addiction to heroin but less satisfactory than using the time to make lashings more money.

Like? Not really. She RESPECTS it though. Anything that can occupy this much of my time, she respects.

Luckily, she was back in a few days time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Kids wanted to come back http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
And she ran out of money anyway http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

In reality we had some serious discussions about priorities. After nearly 14 years together, it's good to have some fights http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif and then make up after that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif
I am more geared up in some other stuff, help her a lot while she studies and tries to complete her master thesis at the university, in return she accept this as a hobby. She usually gets WWII aviation books for me at Xmas time, she realized the good side of the situation... no more wondering about what presents I would like http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

She likes it.... I have stopped complaining about her seeing stupid TV-shows http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.....and she gets the big screen TV all to herself to actually see Oprah, Dr Phil or some lame docusoap like "Idol", "Top Model" etc...http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif she also knows that I have met a few really great guys so for that he is all happy.
But she does say when I sit down in front on the computer: "Are you going to play (as children's play) with your friends".. with a very maternal voice http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.. and that kind of bugs me hehe

I Photoshoped heart with her name on it on my 109 and she likes the game much more now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
OTOH, if she wouldn't understand my interests and me hers, I guess we wouldn't be together.

My gf doesn't no about this game but shes as passionate about aviation as I am - we both wanne be pilots in the RAAF. Now that's a woman after my heart!

Mrs F-IV doesn't speak english as her first language, so she isn't familiar with the term "flight sim". She calls it stirring the pot, probably to got do with the motion of moving thejoystick around.

One time we had some very straight-laced friends around for dinner. They remarked upon how we had two computers - one each:

"Oh, is because of him" she said. "He is all the time in front of computer, like this..." (At which point she makes a fist over her crotch and makes jerking, side to side and back to front motions). Well I'll tell you, their eyebrows shot up so far I thought they were going to fly right off! I quickly jumped over to my PC and rolled the chair out of the way to reveal the joystick and explain that I have a thing for flight sims. That is all. Honest!

Geeze! Thank God I was there to explain. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

The wife sometimes rides backseat and plays tail gunner. Claims it's not so much that she wants to protect my 6 as much as they only person that ought to be flaming it is her. Overall, she's found my vpilot life easier to tolerate than my real pilot life.

Well, my wife plays computer and video games, but she stays away from flight sims. She does get a kick out of watching tracks from missions that take a turn for the worse.......if only to "rib" me about it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I checked this thru with she -who-must be -obeyed & this is her answer:
She is happy that HE'S happy, but she does hate the headphones cause he can't hear anything else in the house.

At least with the Track IR clip I've been able to ditch the cap...

She respects it 100%. Never complains and sometimes she even asks me "why don't you fly these days?" This is how we encourage and fully appreciate each other's interests. Of course, it takes some intelligence to keep the balance of things. Sometimes it's like a tightrope walk. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My wife is very cool about the whole thing, although she dosent play herself. We have always respected each others space and interests, and we have had a great relationship for 22years. She keeps pretty close track of the many flight sims that I have, and when she is out shopping and finds herself near Circuit City, Comp USA, or whatever, she will pop in and see if there is any new stuff on the shelves and call me on the cell phone if she isnt sure about whether I have any particular title she may have found. She has gotten me some good sims too.

A lucky guy

My last serious gf was into aviation, she really really wanted to get her liscense to fly choppers, so the flight thing didnt bother her a bit. She knew where I was, and that she didnt have to worry about contending with "some flashy tart". She didnt even mind my gaming hobbies (boardgames and minatures), she thought my minature painting was awesome, and the figs were "cute". Hell, she was even into guns and owned her own Sig 220 .45 cal. (Im a big gun nut).

And to top it off, she was a hot number from the UK and had an accent that had me drooling most of the time.

Should have kept her. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif (9/11 screwed all that up, we both lost our jobs when the IT bubble burst, she wound up going back to the UK courtesy of our immigration laws).

Hey Bear, my wife beads too. What style is she into? Mine does the Native American bit and she's pretty darn good as well. Heck, she even helped me make a Mighty Eighth rosette.

"Honey, at least you know where I am."
