Like I said at Subsim, every area of the visable ocean there is populated with shipping routes. Even if u-boats never went to some of those places historically, there'll be activity there just in case you decide to make a trip there on your own.

This is the most amazing game I have ever seen.

That's what caught my eye.

There is activity in places where you may not even be going. Just like a living world.

Very cool.

isnt looking at that kinda cheating??? I mean I'm sure they had intel on shipping lanes, but from looking at that I will never sail 500 miles off of Brazil looking for shipping....if you know what I mean....Does that mean that ships will only sail along those routes? or are those just convoy routes with ramdom paths for other ships?

Yes very cool for the "Happy times" but later in the
war most of those ships will be very very bad. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

It is a pic from the editor, more then likely to show just how much detail went into the research regarding shipping lanes.

Hmm the only thing i can say is alot of the lanes look likes the devs just drew lines back and forth and porbably each lane is time dependant as in this lane will be travelled on starting on 1942 sept 6th. Also if by destroying a convoy will other lanes be affected by a deficiency of ships or will britain and other powers have those predefined lanes always full of ships regardless of your efforts.

The lanes, convoys and ships are all random, I believe.

Must be time for the dev team to take a desert holiday.
This is exactly the type of thing that makes me want to play the game.

At outbreak of war 3000 ships just in Britains Merchant navy so thats a no. Unless you have a secret weapon your not telling us about http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

You should find lone merchants less often as the war progresses though. Its an interesting map though, thanks arklight. (though im trying not to look at it in a detailed way lol, i dont want to know where there is no shipping at all)

i see 2 things here

1. A clear view of 1 u boat captain that fought from 1939 till late '45. Never sunk, been everywhere, in short terms: a succesfull silent hunter.

2. JG27_Arklight that hase going outrages in one carreer. Not really knowing the coordinates he suppose to go, not to mention an indentification of a single ship :P.
