Someone on the team is making this from scratch. What is it?

Controls for engine(s) power?

could be:

Bomb site adjustment

Raising and lowering / adjusting the ball torrent.

Those are my two best guesses.

There are three levers, one could lower a disco ball, while the other lets the naked dancers out of their cages...hmmm whats the third one do.

My answer is correct. And your picture is too.

Raising and lowering / adjusting the ball torrent. No, look at the photo posted by jarink. Look at who would use these controls and look at all of the wrong answers that have been guessed. There isn't too much left.

Bomb release handle?

It can "lock" the bomb rack, ready the bombs to be released electronically, or releases the bombs mechanically.

From the looks of it, it also controls the bomb bay doors as well... I know that some B-17 had them on different lever mechanisms, but I would bet the later models had them together.

Bomb release handle? We have a winner

Here is a bad photo of the exploded view and parts list from Boeing. Items 9 and 10 are two of the handles and are identified as Handle Assembly - Bomb Release.

I want to offer an apology to Col.BBQ for his response on the third B-17 question. After further review, the officials have ruled that his answer was correct.

I did not completely understand the function of the item in photo 3 when I posted this (I admitted this when I posted it). Two of the three levers do release the bombs, but the third lever controls the bomb bay doors. We believe that this lever locks all three levers and it must be released first, and only then can the other two levers be activated. This obviouslty is a fail safe device to keep the bombs from being released when the bomb bay doors are closed. I will try and get a photo of the completed assembly next week.

Sorry Col.BBQ,
