The Do335 hasn't been finished, yet.
Wait a week or two and I'll post final renders of the cockpit.

in general:
just beacuse someone is posting a 3D model of a plane in a game related froum does NOT mean this planes will ever come !
thats the experience of the last 3 years. 3D modelling for IL2 need to have a very high standart , and moslty the work that is needed additonal to the 3D modell (all the LODs , damage modells..... ) seems not so exciting http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi,

I can only speak for the Do335 cockpit pics I've seen but I don't think anyone could say they were of low quality; rather, they were exceptionally good and on a par with the 262 and Me110.

To put it simply, compare them with the eyesore that is the P-47 pit and you wonder how that ever was permitted into the game.

Cheers,
Norris

Typhoon external was rejected and the general community had not heard of this until in the last couple of weeks.

Not to be confused with the Tempest (how people confuse this is beyond me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) which last I heard was on schedule.

Realy, what most bothers me is lack of high standard cockpit art. Jug is beaotifull plane but look inside the cockpit is unbearable. It hurts my eyes to look at such low quality. Also Zero and Val have suffered greatly at the hands of their host designer. Atzebrueck has shown imense aestetic standards. Same was shown by Ki series, 110, i185, gladiator but only few people are able to follow that level, so it seems.

well its **** hard to get that standard in texture work...

p47 pit may not be great, but its better than the lancasters pit, which doesnt exist http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

For all you jug cockpit whiners, please fly the jug in CFS3.

The only "problem" with the P-47 pit is that it's too dark. Not the colors, the light level is too low and the instruments are hard to read as a result. Simply being painted in dark colors isn't enough to cause that. (my car is black with a black interior and black faced gauges, they are extremely easy to see, even into dusk)

Well....that and the amount with which the front bar on the razor backs gets in the way, with stereoscopic vision and a movable head it wouldn't be such a big deal.

Now bring on the Do-335! Let's get that awesome plane in this awesome sim and put that beautiful pit to good use!

I'd by an addon that was *just* the Do-335. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Well Norris Jhat the Original p-47 texture artist ahs already offerd to re-texture the P-47 cocpits and for free even. but Oleg refused.

originally posted at Netwings by Jhat:
Quote: "Hmmm I got really sad news here.
Just got an email back from Oleg, and no, it s not doable because of "very serious reasons" (quoted directly). Diablo, I seriously think you should talk to Oleg before you start any work on any Republic Plane (read P47N). This reason, I believe, is beyond good will and time... won t go any further because all Oleg said was "good reasons not to, believe me".
Ahhh, I guess that was it, crushed...

Thanks for the reference though, I had already started gathering things like that but I think it s not of use anymore...

Edit: Hi, I just sent him another email with some argumetns on why it should be remade and for which game (FB merged). As soon as I get a reply, I ll let you guys know if there was anything different.

JHAT End Quote.

Not my Tyffie! The Humanity, oh, the humanity. The sheer, unmitigated horror of it all.

There is now only blankness and dark in my life.

Excuse me, I think i'll go curl up into a foetal ball with a bottle of good single malt. Maybe i'll rock back and forth on the floor making sad little 'fwoosh'ing sounds as i bid farewell to my dreams of low level tank killing action.

Why, oh why, did you have to go away little tyffie?
I will miss you so.

Rumors of another picking up the Typhoon. But I don't know much about it.

The Tempest is, as I said, still fairly well gauranteed. (cross your fingers!!!) They are close cousins...so we'll at least have that. The Tempest is certainly more of a capable fighter than the Typhoon (which was mostly a fighter-bomber) which had a very poor roll rate in comparison.

Yes , the Tempest will rock http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Tempest + Typhoon + Spit XIV will represent RAF finally as it should .
Pity about the Mosquito's tho , i've not seen anyone talking about this bird being modelled , nor about the german Me-410 or Do-217 , i just love twin engines ,and these birds were produced in great numbers , i hope we'll be able to fly it one day either in FB or BoB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Its with Oleg last we were told. It was done by a fairly talented team so I imagine its ok. I think there was one mention of it being programmed WIP.

The Mosquito is with Maddox games and has been since September.

I emailed Oleg recently to find out it's status but haven't yet had a reply.
