IIRC there was a post about the P-80, in which you said that you aren't familiar with external differences of the P-80A/B/C and that these differences are hardly to see. So if you made a joke about that nevermind that post her, if not I got some scans that show some little differences.

Here the XP-80 with the original short rear section caused of the fit of the British Goblin. Also nose development without any kind of lights or the Hughes fire guiding. Also the air intake in original shape and not rounded rudder tips.

(X)P-80A with the I-40 engine, stregthed rear section caused of the bigger engine, rounded rudder tips, refined air intake and nose light.

P-80B, new nose development with the black nose cover. (Not sure is that the housing of the Hughes fire guiding.)

P-80C, new sliding hood with a parson's nose at the rear end of the sliding frame and intergrated antenna in the plexi glass can barely be seen. Also a new airing in the rear section of the fuselage. Barely to see near the national insignia. Later B-models also show that airing after the upgrade to C-models

and upgraded B-Model with that airing in front of the fuselage band.

Great pic, the F-80C engine closeup, thanks /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

By the way, the canopy of the F-80B/C was also slightly lower.

Cheers,

Maybe who's interested about that airing that appeared 1st with regular C-model and upgrated A and B to C-model.
