View Full Version : All the male personas...

DoctorEurope

Out of curiosity, am I the only who thinks all of the male personas in this game, aside from the harlequin, are pretty terrible? I feel like they're way too brutish and just kinda boring. I mean come on, a knight? xD

Am I the only one?
Hopefully in the new DLC they come out with some new, cooler, male personas. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Meh...I like the prowler, the doctor, and the officer...though i rarely use them over my ladies the courtesan and the smuggler...so the women are definitely better i guess

Well, yes, I would say so. And sorry if that looks hateful or anything, I just have an obsession with using correct terminology sometimes. Making sure everybody knows what we're talking about http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I honestly think that all of them are pretty lousy.. I like the Executioner(my favorite), the Prowler just because he resembles an assassin, and the Barber just because he has a throat slit..the rest are all pretty crappy imo. I understand the Harlequin and the Doctor because tons of online players like playing dark characters http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif but the rest just look foolish. The http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif Padfoot is like 6 years old the Blacksmith sounds awesome looks ******ed and whats with all the girls.. I understand one or two but the ratio to male characters is a little extreme.

Uh..what? There's 3- Courtesan, Hellequin, and Thief. How's that extreme? Furthermore, why does it even matter what the ratio is?

World population is estimated at about 51-52% women, so shouldn't there be more female toons than dudes?

Or should they all be too busy cooking to be killing?

Video game =/= real life

Who knows - maybe the Templars are misogynists

i like(all elite gear)
1-barber
2-prowler
3-mercenary
4-doctor
5-courteson
6-theif
7-hellequin
8-preist
didn't put neither harlequin nor officer because i don't have any of them and the smuggler because i think she's too soft for the job and the other characters are too lame to even look at

The priest is the best. You can't see through his robes, but he's hung like a blue whale.

Phyxsius-

Barber and Officer are pretty OK to me. The Priest to some extent, just because it resembles to some extent Agent 47.

Ratio between male and female is higher than the general conception of real life genders playing. IMO.

4 out of 12 are female, I believe, in ACB?

[EDIT]Then again I like realism or anything closer to reality. So I will never support personas such as: Vampires (even against the current trend), Yetis or "Nanny that kills with a Frying Pan While Yelling Banzai", no matter how new or cool those might be.

The Officer is different as well, he's "boss" :P

There's a big amount of female players, probably a higher % than what you gave. I don't know, but I guess it is higher.

I always pick female characters because they are nice to look at and have cool moves. I like the officer and Harlequin (both I don't own) and the blacksmith is so hilarious that I use him once in a while. I also use the footpad because of his front punches. The others are less interesting to my taste, but I think the one I see least in matches (so probably the least popular) is the executioner. But almost every time, most girls are on the field.

The Engineer isn't brutish, he is cuddly and harmless-looking. Compared to most other characters, he isn't as obviously murderous. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Just chillin'.

You could imagine him singing, well, Imagine, and Give Peas a Chance (Carrots Looks Like Richards).

Well I don't know about that but I just find them... appealing. The only male persona I use a lot is the Doctor and occasionally the Prowler.

Most of the time of Thief or Smuggler. I use the Female personas a lot more haha.

There are 17 multiplayer characters, including the Harlequin, Hellequin and Officer.

Of all those 17, there's only 4 women.

Ubisoft needs to even the scales a little.

10 base, 4 unlock through levels, 2 collectors, 1 uplay. 10+4+2+1 = 13.

Idk. I thought most of the male personas were just fine. Only ones I don't particularly care for are the Mercenary and Blacksmith. I feel like they stick out like sore thumbs.

I used to hate the Footpad, too, but he's growing on me.

If there are any new personas, I would want more girls.

i know what you mean about the B and E persona's. not really the type you can picture leaping from roof top to roof top and making a silent kill. look more like "take everything head on and be loud as all hell" kind of guys. the others you can kinda see being the "stealth" type like the prawler.

There's more than 3 times as many male personas as there are female personas.

People only choose the female personas just as much as male personas because there are less in comparison.

That, and guys like their boobs.

TO the argument over male/female characters, more females would be nice, but in the era the game's set, women had few roles which would make them useful to the Templars. It's understandable, if less cool, to have less females. And they've done a good job of giving us awesome female characters.

As for the OP, I don't think the Engineer is brutish - I think he looks silly, personally, and don't much enjoy playing as him, but I don't think he's at all brutish.

The Barber is definitely not brutish, nor is the Prowler. And the Priest is more creepy than brutish. Same with the Doctor.

Only ones I'd call brutish are Blacksmith, Executioner, and MAYBE Mercenary.

I think Ubisoft calling him "He" in the official character card is a good answer, though.

I agree. If anything, the engineer seems like the crazy scientist or abnormal artist-type to me. He's a little large but not really brutish.
The priest kind of reminds me of Hitman's Agent 47 but in priest robes, and that's not very brutish.

Well I had an idea for a Female character, which I thought up when I saw a unit on Project Legacy. In the Crafting menu there's an option to 'Train Botanist' which you use up a Courtesan and a Botany Tome.

This is what I put for her:

I got the idea of the Botanist from the Project Legacy unit of the same name. I was thinking that she would use Pruning Shears as a weapon. She wears a Renaissance gown in light green and carries a flower basket (that has open ends) with her that she holds close to her waist, in front of her, which she keeps the shears in along with some flowers. She has long wavy red hair that comes to her torso. Her outfit upgrades would go from normal, to a belt with an ornate flower buckle, then a scarf with a vine like pattern through it and her final elite gear would be a veil.

Oh my god, I LOVE this idea!! Do you mind if I quote this idea in the official thread that takes them? I would love it if they could think about it.

And I also heard about the idea of a female tailor that could kill with a needle and a string of thread. (She could stab someone with her needle from the front and strangle from the back)
