If you ask them for advice politely you will get alot of help,i hope LOL. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
You may need to be more specific on your routes, timings and length of time available to you.

RAF Museum Cosford west of Burmingham, slight detour on way from Holyhead to Midd*****urgh. The air museums in North of England are small and have cold war jets if anything, IWM Duxford, and RAF museum Hendon are the best. The best aviation museums are in the South of England.

I take it you are travelling from Ireland? I was in the Lake District in Feb, stayed in Keswick I seem to recall a museum up that way being advertised.

I wasn't impressed by the Pubs and restaurants in Keswick BTW (town is nice), like stepping into a '70s time warp, they all have dirty floral carpet, dirty velour wallpaper, and horrible 70s black wooden chairs and tables, and dirty toilets, while the beer is nice the pubs really are a throwback to an era when cleanliness seemed to be forgotten about http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I CAN recommend if you are in Keswick the Chinese Restaurant just off the main street(can't miss it), and the "Lakeland Biker" restaurant near the main car park. Great home made REAL food and lots of it, brilliant for breakfast too and its non smoking as well, another big dissappointment with the pubs and restaurants which all STANK of cigarette smoke http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Also if you get a chance to travel up the coast from Midd*****rough, I would try the Farne Islands and Banburgh for some of the best and most Beautiful countryside and beaches in England....... The Farne Islands is a Bird Sanctuary par excellence...

I would try the Farne Islands and Banburgh for some of the best and most Beautiful countryside and beaches in England

I second that.

Bamburgh is my favourite UK beack, and if you visit the castle, I think they have a wrecked Luftwaffe (poss 109) aircraft, or a lot of it anyway. I think they pulled it out of the sea nearby.

If you do find yourself in that neck of the woods, try Cragside for the best of the best in Englands countryside.

Regards.

Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington nr. York is a good one.

There's also a WWII museum on the A64 nr. Malton, but I've never been to it so I can't recommend. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

..... Would that be the Museum of Army Transport in Beverly that you're thinking of? A very interesting place, with a lot more on exhibit the the name implies.

Not sure what you might be looking for but this first link has 790 old WW2 airfields listed so I am assuming that there might be one or more where you will be traveling.

http://www.airfieldhistoriesuk.fsnet.co.uk/acknowledgements2.htm

The second link is for the Hendon WW2 aircraft museum, in London, and I realise you are not going there but Im including it because of the great pictures of some of their displays. (super looking Mosquito)

Have a fun trip
