How do I taKe off from the carrier in the training mission because when i press'B' on the keyboard the brakes do not come off and nothing happens though to engine is at 110%? The only way I can get it to work is to quickly turn the auto pilot on and off. Also 'G' does not raise the gear.Any advise qreatly appreicated.

Thanks in advance.

You need to do a couple of things.

1) Map the "Release Chocks" controls to a button on your keyboard or stick. I use "CTRL C" myself. Hit ESC in game and go to the controls option in the menu. Here you will find all the controlls that are mappable in the game

2) Map a 'Manual Gear Up' and 'Manual Gear Down' button. Then to raise and lower gear on birds like the I-153 and the F4F you will need to repeatedly press the button to raise the gear. The F4F gear needs to be pumped something like 36 times.

General advice for taking off; Set aircraft trim, fuel mix to 120%, throttle up to 100, radiatior open, supercharger on stage 1 (default), throttle to 110%, close radiators, combat flaps down, release chocks, flaps to 'take off' just before the end of the deck, let the aircraft settle nose donwards don't yank the stick up, allow plane to level off, throttel to 95%, flaps to combat, fuel mix to 100, gain some speed and alt, gear up, radiator to 2 or 4, climb.

You may also need to look at mapping fuel mix and propellor pitch as well as wing fold and landing hook commands.

Don't sweat it, Peterturn...I asked the same questions when I started this game, too. A lot of us did.

I quickly learned to first try the forum's "search" function before posting (and also to actually read the "ReadMe" files lol).

Welcome aboard! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
