Hi guys

I'm starting to play pacific fighters and the sbd 3 was one first airplanes that I started to fly. I noticed it has a kind of scope replacing the target. On the ki-43la, for example, i can open it by pressing "ctrl-D" but when I do it with the sbd it remains closed. What's the correct button??? Simple doubt...

I think its shift F1.

You may want to check out my SBD campaigns. See below.

Ok. Thank you man =). It's shift-1, but...just one more thing. Can I open the scope without looking directly to it? I mean, I cannot see the cockpit. On the ki-43la I can open it and still be looking the cabin, f example...

I'll check the campaings, seems interesting!

The ki-43 scope has a cover, the SBD scope does not. Technically the SBD scope is always open, you just can't see through it.

I'll give you a hint....it is the easiest a/c to land on a carrier...especially if you use the telescope whilst doing so...at least that has been my experience

Thats almost as easy as landing it from the rear gunner position. :\

No...really!

When i started getting frustrated with my poor carrier landings I tried to master the SBD first...(and the corsair last...lol)
and with the telesight open I had about 90% success rate

...she turned me into a newt!...

I got better ... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'll take your word for it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I tried walking with binoculars once, darned near killed myself, I can't even imagine trying to land with them on, gives me chills! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

The reason Fabianfred's "method" works is because looking through the telescopic sights in this game affords a cheat, whereby the view doesn't have the cowling in the way. In real life you wouldn't have the same degree of look-down. Being able to look "through" the cowling makes up for the somewhat zoomed-in (30 degree wide) view.

Like Buzzsaw, I too don't much like the distance compression and concomitant "slow motion" effect of the zoomed in view for landing. But It doesn't make my hair stand up, though! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

obviously I only change to tele view once I am lined up on finals with full flaps and all ready...and keep the sight on the far end of the deck...using the throttle more than the stick to keep it going right

Sniper's right. Try it from the back seat. Rotate the gun position all the way to the left, then just look over to the left. You'll be looking right down the left side of the fuselage. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
